Did Kanye save his most intense "rant" for the bright lights at MSG? You be the judge as the Yeezus Tour impacted the world's most famous arena and Kanye discussed a little bit more about first and foremost: being him, and not trying to be anybody else or follow a formula. 'Ye also tells a story about Hedi Slimane (a recent target), unleashes more frustartion about Nike and the Red Octobers (He never got an answer from Nike on when the Red Octobers would drop), and talks about wanting the support of Eric Schmidt. Very interesting to the Kanye fan. Watch above and hear the autotuned words yourself.
Kanye West is in Philly for the Yeezus Tour now and spoke with Hot 107.9 on a variety of topics in this in-depth three-part interview. Amongst them is being comfortable talking about himself as a "creative genius" and having that creative freedom he's long been desiring. Plus, he goes into more detail about his parents — his photographer/psychology major father and of course, his professor mother Donda. Another great interview to peep on top of his visit to Boston yesterday (below).
UPDATE: Kanye and Kim are normal people too! They were photographed enjoying a meal at Wendy's last night. I'd like to think that 'Ye is saavy enough to mix and match for a Chocolate-Cookie Dough Frosty.
UPDATE 2: The last video below is Kanye naming his favorite artist (James Blake) at the 4:20 mark, and talking shoes. Hey, some new topics!
Kanye West, along with his DONDA associate and most recently #BeenTrill# designer (+ architect) Virgil Abloh, gave Harvard design grad students a treat today by giving an empowering speech about the possibilities and power of design. We're only able to get a sense of it via the video here (UPDATE: PLUS, below), but I did take out a few quotes from it below.
But I just wanted to tell you guys: I really do believe that the world can be saved through design, and everything needs to actually be “architected.” And this is the reason why even some of the first DONDA employees were architects that started designing t-shirts instead of buildings. But just to see the work actually be actualized.

As an architecture undergraduate myself, I can only appreciate this even more having the first-hand experience of seeing design and creativity come to fruition. I can't help but nod my head to what Kanye says here and only wish to hear more from 'Ye & Virgil on this topic.
UPDATE 2: Kanye delievered a new "rant" at the concert later that night (where he gave everyone above free tickets). As you may guess, he touches on creativity — perhaps stemming from earlier that day.
Good, but possibly bad news, for Kanye fans! The tour is back on track after last week's auto accident derailed it with postponements. In a statement by Def Jam today, some of the cities have new, rescheduled dates; however, some are flat out canceled. Hopefully those cities will get something down the line.
Don't fret, local readers. The Chicago double dip are two of the newly rescheduled dates: December 17 & 18. Here's the full details:
THE YEEZUS TOUR WILL RESUME ITS SCHEDULED ROUTING ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH AT THE WELLS FARGO CENTER IN PHILADELPHIA, PA.
THE CHICAGO, TORONTO, AND DETROIT DATES HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED (SEE RESCHEDULED DATES BELOW).
DUE TO ROUTING LOGISTICS, THE VANCOUVER, DENVER, COLUMBUS, MONTREAL, MINNEAPOLIS AND ST. LOUIS SHOWS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED.
For those keeping track at home, that's the first time an emoticon has made the Post Title here on GWHH. And unfortunately, the reason is warranted. Last week, the Yeezus Tour was postponed in Vancouver, Denver, and Minneapolis due to a damaged LED screen that was beyond repair because of an auto accident. This will unfortunately derail 'Ye's homecoming this week in Chicago on November 7th and November 9th as multiple sources are confirming word from the United Center that the tour is postponed until further notice.
I expected the tour to not make it this week in Chicago (after all, that screen is a no joke 60 feet wide), but I can only imagine that once 'Ye does return, he'll do it even bigger. TBD..!
The tour is postponed due to an accident to the truck carrying one of the stage's screens, which is damaged beyond repair. Definitely unfortunate, but let's have patience. I still can't wait til the Yeezus Tour hits Chicago. Here is the official statement:
Yesterday, on the road to Vancouver, a truck carrying The Yeezus Tour’s custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen was in an accident that damaged the gear beyond repair.
This gear is central to the staging of The Yeezus Tour, and central to the creative vision put forth by Kanye West and his design team at DONDA.
As a result of this event, it is impossible to put on the show and The Yeezus Tour will be postponed until these essential pieces can be reengineered and refabricated.
Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans.
The Vancouver, Denver and Minneapolis dates have been postponed. Further details on the affected tour dates will be announced shortly.
Can Kanye "talk his shit"?! Here's his latest "rant" as the Yeezus Tour did an encore stay in L.A. last night. This one is fueled by being classified as "just another celebrity" and that he's not MJ, MJ, or Richard Pryor (Jackson, Jordan). Above is some crispy footage via REVOLT, and below some fan footage of the full "rant".
Another Kanye "rant" has made its way to the interwebs from the #YeezusTour stop in Oakland a few days ago. This one, unlike the other one seen today, doesn't have to do with fashion, but instead features 'Ye first talk about the media:
“We are more powerful than the media, today. I control the media! I get on TV shows and do what the fuck I want, when I want, how I want, my way!”
- Kanye West
What resonated more with me was the chilling conclusion as 'Ye repeats "Put your hands in the sky right now if you could believe you could do anyyything!". Only 'Ye can deliver it like this too; what a influential and spirited message!
Sidebar: how about the improvement of fan footage at concerts?! Shoutout to YouTube user (and probably not the Seahawks quarterback) "Russell Wilson".
I had the 'under' in the amount of tour stops it took until 'Ye fired off an impassioned "rant" off the cuff during the Yeezus Tour. It took til Las Vegas this weekend when 'Ye focused on the fashion world, akin to his recent interviews. More specifically, 'Ye talks about his photo with Don C and crew in Paris during the 808s Era, his ability to "break the internet" (true, true), and where he sees the similarities in "New Slaves" and the current events and controversy with Barney's and the NYPD. Pt. 1 above, pt. 2 below, and the crowd goes crazy above and below.
There have been three stops on the Yeezus Tour thus far and with each stop as come a longer preview of a new song entitled "I Am Not Here". Here is the best fan footage preview so far, via KTT.
I feel a tad bit spoiled from all of the images and video 'Ye's crew posted and I couldn't avoid last weekend, and for me, I really want to enjoy the experience in person so I'll be avoiding videos like this in favor of hearing and seeing this unfold in front of me in less than a month here in Chicago. If you don't care as much, want to relive it if you were there, or can't make any of the tour stops, then this video is for you. I'm already at max. excitement anyway.
