"Well, Wale called me, came to my show. We hung out a little bit. He wanted me to do something with him. I didn't understand it. But he did. And then I kinda liked the guy, I dug the guy. I listened to his music, I liked the music. So I said, 'Alright I'll do it.' even though I didn't know what I was going to do..."
- Jerry Seinfeld on meeting, and working with Wale
Yup. That's how this all came together. Jerry explains the story in typical Seinfeld fashion, complete with his wife's reaction as well. Press play above and look out for a Wale x Jerry Seinfeld collab on the supposed upcoming album, Album About Nothing. I am really eager to see how this plays out. I'm sure Wale and his camp were like this when Jerry agreed to work together...
Wale announces 5 new shows around Texas to promote the new Folarin mixtape. I suspect there will be more dates and cities added? For now, the lucky fans down South will get to see Wale come January 27th in San Antonio.
First and foremost let me say Happy New Year to you all and I hope you had a Merry Christmas. You all might have noticed that I didn't post a Top 5 List last week, sorry for that but this little thing called Christmas was going on so I was a little busy but I'm back now. So lets jump into this weeks list shall we.
When I first listen to this song I immediately wish I had dreads. This was an unexpected collab between these two artist and I think the end result was pretty dope. Perfect riding music or dread shaking music in the club. I'm not a huge fan of Gucci but this was put on my iPod fairly fast. And is it me or do you all hear a Chicago drill flow in Gucci verses?
This song goes along the same lane as the Gucci track at the top of this weeks list. I can ride to this and see myself having a good time to it in the club. Solid track.
Murph Watkins is an up and coming artist from Chicago that I've been listening to lately. If this is your first time hearing him then you really need to download his EP The Plague that he dropped a few weeks back. Another Chicago MC that we need to be on the lookout for.
If ever there was a recipe to make a song that the streets would like I think this song would be the end result. First you'll need Lil Wayne, then you add a Mike Will Made It beat, sprinkle in a little Drake and Future, then make the song about something that everybody would respect, like "Bitches Love Me." Eat up.
So that's this weeks list and let me say that my riding music playlist has had a good week. So like always feel free to let know your thoughts in the comments section or hit me up on Twitter.
