Forget about the fact that The Voice has yet to produce a commercially successful contestant. Why? Well apparently that does not matter to those who audition for the show nor the general public who watches. It’s all about the start power the show is good at booking.
Recently announced from Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green they will be taking a temporary leave from the show. Filling their spots for the fourth season will be Usher and Shakira. This decision was made when Aguilera announced more details around her upcoming album Lotus. Cee Lo Green will also be releasing his Holiday album Cee Lo’s Magic Moment due October 30th.
For many in the Chicago dance community, "FINALLY" is the word that comes to mind after an announcement from Puzzle League. Chris Martin has been steadily gaining popularity in the YouTube world, with over 100,000 views on this video alone. Chris, Carlo Darang, and Nic Ballecer dance to the cool, calm "Bad Girl" by Usher. It was extremely difficult to pick a personal favorite moment from this video, as the whole thing is just completely sexy from beginning to end, but at about 0:33 to 0:38 his musicality really shines. If you are a person who has always wanted to get into dancing, this workshop is a perfect opportunity at only $10 a class or $15 for both! See the event detail for more information.
Surprisingly with all of Usher’s personal and profession setbacks he hasn’t fully abandon his album Looking 4 Myself. Today Usher announced a new single to be released from the album, which will be album cut ‘Dive’. Usher and his label have hope that this single will help boost his current album sales, which is currently at an underwhelming 327k.
Looking 4 Myself is one of Usher’s slowest selling albums of his career. The album only had one top ten hit and that was ‘Scream’, which peaked at #9 on the Hot 100. Usher has been in a career slump since his release of Raymond V. Raymond.
This is very disappointing considering Usher is the only artist to go diamond in the 2000’s with Confessions. Not to mention Usher became the first artist to top Billboard Hot 100 Airplay with three consecutive number-one singles. Also having the top three singles at the same time on the Hot 100. Maybe this is a sign that Usher should to go back to being an R&B artist rather then trying to chase a quick hit with pop music. R&B is currently on life support so why not.
