June 3, 2013 — Santa Monica, CA —Singer songwriter producer and MC, Tiara Thomas joins Grammy award-winning writer and producer Rico Love's Division1, which recently joined forces with Interscope Geffen A&M.
The 23 year old Indianapolis native is also the co-writer and co-producer of Wale's current hit single, "Bad," which hit number one on the Urban Mainstream chart April 27. Tiara, who co-wrote and co-produced the record while attending Ball State University, is the first signing on Rico's Division1 label.
"Tiara is a gifted and versatile artist," commented John Janick, President of Interscope Geffen A&M. "We're excited to work with Rico and Divison1 to develop and expose her extraordinary talent."
Added Rico Love: “I’m extremely excited about Tiara Thomas being a member of the Division1 family. She's an amazing talent, phenomenal vocalist, and one of the most creative songwriters I've heard in a while. We're anxious to see how the world receives her. We have no doubt that they'll love her as much as we do. #TTLO”
Much respect to Tiara Thomas' rendition of "Bad" — this one's a solo, original version as we look for Thomas to continue to break out on her own after the popular feature off Wale's new single. The acoustics on this are nice and soothing so I can see the casual R&B fan at least appreciating this one from beginning to end.
