I'm back at it with my Top 5 Songs of The Week. This week is was pretty easy for me for some reason, I listened to all the songs and these 5 jumped out at me right away. So that being said lets get to the list.
I know I don't put these in any type of order but this song is my number one song of the week, and I might add it to next week's list just because it's that damn cold. Alicia and Maxwell are two of the most amazing singers of our generations and them together just furthered that belief for me.
The Boy Illinois is getting ready to release his next project 'The Memiors Of Gilbert Gaston' and he has two dope single leading up to that release in early December.
Big Boi did it again. So far from the songs that have dropped from Big Boi he has taken full advantage of the features he has. T.I. and Ludacris killed this, the beat is hard as hell, Big Boi did his things as usual, and he even added a thought provoking sample at the end. 'Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors' is going to NICE.
T.I. is a two time winner this week. It's hard to see any song with Andre 3000 on it not being in the top songs of the week, and I am not going to test that theory. T.I. spit a solid verse and 3k did something that he doesn't often do by letting us into his personal life when mentioning the apologizes to his mother, Big Boi, and "Baby Mother".
The Dream to me is real hit or miss. I really liked his first album but hated his second. This song reminds me of the music from his first album so I'm hoping this album will continue down this path and be a hit overall.
So that's this weeks list from me hope you all enjoy. Always feel free to comment with your thoughts and opinions. Til next week, two fingers to the side(that's peace to you don't get it).
New single off the upcoming album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head.
Didn't like how this started right away with T.I.'s verse, but it was already starting to grow on me halfway through. By verse 2 I was rockin' with Tip, but it was Dre lettin' loose with a long verse and singing outro that makes this track. As for the other elements, I like the female vocals on the hook, but I'm not feelin' the production as well. Solid overall, and I could bump this up to 4 stars and *Tibs Fav. status eventually.
Tomorrow (or perhaps sometime later tonight), we're going to get to hear the new single from T.I. featuring none other than Andre 3000. I think "Sorry" is the opposite feeling I'll have when this drops soon. Off the upcoming album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head, dropping December 18th.
This last week of November is off to a big start, isn't it?
T.I. covers the upcoming issue of Billboard Mag with the quote, "People keep expecting me to fail. I'm going to continue to be huge."
What do you all think? Trouble Man drops on December 18th (and you can preview the artwork and tracklist here) so will this album mark a comeback for T.I. or will he fade into the sunset?

Today, T.I. reveals the western-styled artwork to his upcoming album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head. Collabs vary from Andre 3000, Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, R. Kelly, Akon, Cee-Lo Green, and Pink. Back at the end of summer, we heard some previews at his Trouble Man listening session in Chicago, and a couple of the collabs that have yet to drop that you should look out for is "Can You Learn" with R. Kelly and "Guns & Roses" with, yup, Pink. Both those sounded nice. We'll all get a chance to hear those and more soon enough, come December 18th.
Since Tibs has his Fav's and Rip now has his 5, I figured I might as well join in the action and bring you a little weekly list of my own. So every Friday I'll be hittin y'all with a few gems to ride out to on the weekend. A swagged out list of some of my favorite bumps which made their way on to the site during the week. I'd like to welcome y'all to "Ant's Week'In Raps." Fux with me G's.
#TooBrokeNiggasCantFuckWitMe! A song made for mof*ckas just like me. How g! You know I'll be bumpin' this one every day til the end of next week. This one off Calez's #TooBrokeTape that's on the way. #GO bump this shit!
No days off for the Jets as they continue to unleash a dope wave of heat. This Trademark and Young Roddy cut entitled "Welcome" comes off the upcoming Jet World Order 2 album. Lets hope we see these two back for next weeks #Raps.
TDE's genius mind, Ab-Soul connects with Joey Bada$$ on this dope groove you'll catch me bump on a cruise down LSD, as I soak in the clouds. #GO stream, snag, and stream again. This is "Enter The Void."
It sure has been a while since my homie over in the 301 released anything fresh. This week however Logic delivered on his promise and gave the fans a new release. Something which showcases the Maryland MC goin in over Nas' "NY State Of Mind." A straight vibe to tune in on while you're out and about enjoying the weekend.
Everyone knows that T.I.'s tracks have been a bit stale ever since he got locked up, then released, then locked up again, then released again, then locked up again...so on and so forth. This one entitled "Trap Back Jumpin'" however I feel is a step up for TIP. Lets hope his next single hits harder though. Bring back the #King.
Now #GO enjoy your weekend foolies! Take these and stay safe out there. #HappyFriday. #Salute!
In a flurry of news from new interviews today, Big Boi sheds some light on his current working relationship with Andre 3000. This first quote comes off particularly strong.
As to why 3 Stacks is not on the album:
"He could've been on any song he wanted to. I gave the motherfucker about 5 songs, but I guess he was just too busy. He said he had to do some Gillette shit [room erupts in laughter]. No for real. He said he had some contractual obligations." (via The Village Voice)
He talks with Hot 97 about a potential OutKast reunion:
"It's whatever man. If Dre's ready to do it and I'm not on tour all around the world, let's go, for sure."
And his reaction to Andre 3000's apology on T.I.'s "Sorry":
"I don't really get it. Awkward... I don't get it. I don't know, I gotta ask him," Big Boi said, before saying he didn't feel an apology was even needed.
Interesting tidbits. For the full videos of Big Boi on Hot 97 today and Andre 3000 talking about the T.I. collab and Big Boi's upcoming solo album, Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors, head on over to our Videos page.
