Amid rumors that Jay Electronica and Stic.man spearheaded the writing of Nas' last album, Untitled, both Jay Elect and Stic.man went to social networks yesterday to quell any notion that they did any ghostwrting for Nas. Ghostwriting is a heavy thing to put an emcee, especially to one of high storytelling and lyrical regard in Nas. A lot of people apparently jumped at Nas immediately when these rumors came out, which is upsetting because hasn't Nas earned the respect over the years as a lyricist? Gotta let the story develop and the facts get set straight before we, as a society, do just that.
