adidas D Rose 3: Michigan Ave.

adidas Basketball releases another fresh new colorway of the D Rose 3 - the Michigan Ave. edition seen above. The inspirations clearly stem from Rose's hometown once again, but more specifically:

Dubbed “Michigan Avenue” the colorway is inspired by the lights and iconic characters that populate the avenue in Derrick’s hometown of Chicago during the holiday season. The white synthetic leather upper and midsole feature speckled dots to represent the bright lights of one the world’s best known avenues. The toe is bright blue nubuck, three stripes and lace eyelets are bright yellow and the tongue, outsole and laces are infrared to represent the iconic characters in the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival parade. The inside of each tongue features stars and a half-moon to represent D Rose’s “Poohdini” tattoo. The pattern is encircled by the satellite coordinates of Michigan Avenue and the number 1,000,000 to represent the amount of lights displayed each year during the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival which kicks off Saturday, November 17.

Wow, got to appreciate the detail. And I love the looks of it once again. It would be fitting to grab these on the Michigan Ave. adidas store in Water Tower Place on November 15th, when the shoe will be available everywhere!

Related tangent: Wanted to add my personal congrats to Derrick Rose for becoming a father! Check out srirachana's post earlier today for more, as well as the previously released colorway of the D Rose 3: 90s Throwback Edition.

adidas D Rose 3: 90s Throwback Edition

Above is the newly revealed colorway for the D Rose 3 - the "90s Throwback Edition", inspired by the fashion, colors, and style of the early 90s. (Think Fresh Prince... see: GIF below.) The most notable change in this version of the 3, you know, besides the bright colors, is the graffiti tags of "South Side" and "773" in the tongue. Pretty fresh overall, don't ya say? Cop your pair on November 9th.

adidas D Rose 3: Alternate Away Edition

Take a gander at the newly released colorway of the adidas D Rose 3 - the alternate away edition that features a black base with red, grey, and white accents around. I'm diggin' the placements of said accents and I think this alternate away version jumped to the top of my list for my next on-court shoe. This colorway will be available November 1st.

Third Air Yeezy 2 Colorway Confirmed

If you were apart of that massive sad group like myself earlier this year who wasn’t able to get a pair of Air Yeezy’s 2, well crack a small smile because you have another chance to get them. Nike Sportswear’s Gentry Humphrey hinted that there would indeed be a third colorway to be released. No official release date or an official makeup of the show is confirmed, but still good news right?

Dwyane Wade debuts new Li-Ning signature shoes

Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat are currently overseas for 'The China Games' as they'll play a couple exhibitions versus the L.A. Clippers in... wait for it... China! Naturally, this is the perfect week for Wade to unveil his new signature shoe with Chinese brand Li-Ning. Above you can see the 'Way Of Wade' and below a close-up at the kicks. However, Wade says that "what you see in China will not be the final product," according to the Associated Press. That's good in that I hope they fix the laces and tongue aesthetics for the final product. Not really feelin' those.

What do you guys think of Wade's new shoe? Would you cop it?

adidas D Rose 3: Chicago Fire

Dubbed, “Chicago Fire” the bold and bright electricity-colored shoe is inspired by the Chicago Fire Department in Derrick’s hometown.

The upper is made of rubberized, heavy duty synthetic materials to resemble the strong, protective feel and function of a firefighter’s turnout coat. The three stripes on the back and outsole of the shoe are gray to represent the color of knee and elbow pads on turnout coats and coveralls. The stripes on the back are also reflective material similar to turnout gear, while the black SPRINTFRAME has a smooth, clean finish to signify rubber fire boots.

The inside of the left tongue features the universal cross symbol of firefighters with the D Rose logo in the middle, and the right shoe features a lasered Derrick Rose signature.

- adidas

With the Bulls preseason starting tonight, adidas picks a perfect day to release one of what I'm sure are more colorways to come of the D Rose 3. I love how they continue to draw inspiration from the hometown and the fire department is surely a motivational one. The kicks will be available tomorrow, October 10th. Would you rock them?

adidas Rose 773 available now

The adidas Rose 773 is the latest in the line of Derrick Rose signature shoes from adidas. It should go as no to surprise to our hometown readers that 773 is a nod to one of our city's area codes so already, we're puffing our chests out with pride. The shoe itself bears resemblance to the Rose 2.5 and I view it as an extention of it stylistically. I actually ball in the 2.0s and can vouch for the performance aspect of the shoe as well. It's light, breathable, and I don't feel restricted making cuts. Mine are starting to wear out so I might actually be looking into one of the 11 team colorways that the Rose 773 is set to drop in. You can view the ones that are available now in the slideshow above and drop your credit card over at adidas' store here. Still kind of bittersweet to see that Olympic colorway that Rose was going to wear this summer in London, but whoo, that one is fresh.
