Inspired by a speech by Jim Carrey and Malcolm Gladwell’s bestseller The Tipping Point, the project packs a total of 11 previously-unreleased beats from the buzzmaking producer, whose recent collaborators include Jamall Bufford and Add-2.
I loved Slot-A's "Poison" sampled lead single "Don't Be Afraid of Poison" and am vibing with the entire instrumental project above. Be sure to do the same for the latest from this talented Chicago producer, Slot-A.
Sampled from Bel Biv Devoe's "Poison" and Musiq Soulchild's "Soul Star" - the two records fuse together to create an hypnotic feel good record. "DBAFP" speaks to the fear of losing yourself and the faith you'll need to see through that experience.
I couldn't say it any better than the official description above. Slot-A's instrumental album, Power Of Intention, impacts next week on the 26th and from the sounds of this new single and the meaning behind it, I can already see this project being a great one.
I personally love this track for the "Poison" sample (classic) and how it's flipped in a way where it doesn't draw too much from it. This production feels like it's own and that's key for it's success.
Instant *Tibs Fav. and I can't wait for the 26th to hear the project in full from one of Chi-Town's best beatsmiths.
Neak commemorated the start of his Paura/Amore tour in NYC today with the release of another nice collab with Slot-A as "Everyday Livin'" is a motivational cash chasing record. For those lookin' for that appropriate soundtrack while on the grind, look no further.

Shouts to the hometown's DJ MoonDawg for puttin together quite the lineup for his new single "Bet That". It features fellow Chicagoans L.E.P., John Blu, and Slot-A on the production with the only out of town feature coming from Maino. I like that combo and this is certainly something different. I'd only assume this is a sign of things to come from MoonDawg's end as he's been preppin' more new music behind the scenes while not on the air on WGCI. Stay tuned...
"Do What We Love" is right in line with our brand's essence, Gowhere You Love, so naturally I gravitated towards the latest collab from Neak & Slot-A. Technically speaking, Neak and Slot-A drop some nice, fast-paced flows as well, with Slot-A doin' his thing behind the boards again. As much as I like this one too, I still have "The Kids" on a tier above, so be sure to check out their last release also.
You'll see this on the next update of Featured Songs for sure (newly updated today btw). That's how instant of a hip hop/electronic fused hit this is from Neak and Slot-A. It's definitely something different for Neak to rhyme over and he adapts well, upping his energy to match. Neak provides some analysis on the way "The Kids" are influenced by some of the ills of the world and the lifestyle many of us desire to attain. Dope. Simply put. Also dope: Slot-A's production on this one — one that I can say is in the top tier of great beats he's ever put out. I love the production for the first 2/3 of the track especially while the transition into the last 1/3 is a perfect compliment for Neak's "now the kids wanna try that" to resonate even more. Job well-done by both and I think it deserves the all-caps...
