This past Monday at Sunda in downtown Chicago, Scottie Pippen was surprised by none other than his former teammate Michael Jordan for his 47th birthday party, put together by his wife Larsa. Nothing crazy to report, just that it's always great to see MJ and Pip together, post-retirement. Oh, and there's this fun tidbit via The New York Post.
Bulls family, including team president Michael Reinsdorf and his wife, Nancy, NBA power broker William “World Wide Wes” Wesley, Antoine Walker, Ahmad Rashad, and new Bulls recruit and Chicago native Nazr Mohammed gathered to celebrate at the club with Pippen. Sources told us the fun night ended with a dance-off between Jordan and Pippen to the Trey Songz and Fabolous song, “Say Ahh.”
Ok, I'll ask. Why is there not video of the "Say Ahh" dance-off between Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen?! Ugh, I immediately regret declining my invitation. /I didn't really get invited.
TIBS UPDATE: Found a picture of MJ & Pip together that isn't necessarily great. Well, it's just weird. Hah!
Our latest exclusive interview finds Jen DeLeon in the United Center tunnel with one of the special guest performers of the Nike 'Basketball Never Stops' event: Roscoe Dash! Roscoe spills us the beans on how "Marvin & Chardonnay" came about - did you know he actually recorded the hook first, gave it to 'Ye, and then before he knew it - it's one of Big Sean's breakout singles this summer! That was definitely a personal anthem for me and to hear how that came together from Roscoe is one of the highlights of the video above.
In addition, we got some up-close performance footage of Roscoe runnin' through many of his catchy hits to the Chicago high school basketball players in attendance... seriously, Stan Perry & I were trailin' behind him on the UC floor as you'll see in the first few seconds and throughout. One fun question Jen asked is who Roscoe's favorite basketball team of all-time. With no hesitation, he gave the right answer, hah!
You'll also notice below a picture of us with Scottie Pippen! Pip was on hand as the surprise guest speaker for the Chicago youth and we caught him outside his old locker room for a quick chat and picture. A Chicago living legend. Watch and enjoy the new video above!
