Beanie Sigel Arrested on Drug and Weapon Charges

Beanie Sigel Arrested Early Wednesday Morning

Philadelphia rap icon Beanie Sigel was arrested Wednesday morning a little past 3AM during a traffic stop in the Delaware County section of Pennsylvania. This comes just two weeks before Sigel was scheduled to report to prison for failing to pay more than 728,000 in federal income taxes from1999-2005.

According to reports Sigel was a passenger in a Ford Fusion that was stopped by police after it was observed swerving and tailgating other vehicles. State troopers proceeded to stop the vehicle, and order the driver Gerald Andrews out of the car. Upon a search of the car officers discovered a bevy of prescription bottles, as well as a small amount of marijuana.

State troopers then searched Sigel himself discovering the rapper had several packaged perscription pills hidden in a carton of cigarettes, codeine syrup, and 4,650 dollars in cash on his person. Upon Further inspection of the vehicle troopers would find a firearm hidden in the center consol. Both Sigel and Andrews are convicted felonies, and not permitted to carry any firearms. They were taken into custody at the Pennsylvania Police Barracks; both men were unable to post bond.

Another arrest in the troubled life of Beanie Sigel; the "Broad Street Bully", has seen a number of his days lost behind prison walls. A lyricist whose gritty street sound drew from his own experiences appears to be getting lost in the revolving door that is the prison and legal system. Hopefully Sigel can pull through this latest incident and get back to the music we all cherished during the State Property and Roc-A-Fella heyday.
