You knew it was coming! The video to Lupe Fiasco's official first single off Tetsuo & Youth"Old School Love" featuring Ed Sheeran. The two linked up yesterday to wrap up the filming and from the looks of the above and a couple more images below, the visual will have an appropriate old school, nostalgic feel. I mean, look at those plastic couches, the Atari joystick, even the "Old School Love" cassette tape. Furthermore, the video is being directed by Coodie & Chike and I can already sense an instant classic "Through The Wire" vibe (C&C's landmark Kanye video). Be on the lookout for the final product sooner than later, and scroll below the images for even more Lupe goodies...
J. Ivy on set with Lupe Fiasco
Bonus Lupe: his two most recent features! First, he linked up with Chicago rapper RondoNumberNine for the "Life of a Savage RMX". This one is a street anthem that channels an energetic Lupe. Second is Lupe on Robert Glasper's new album, Black Radio 2, alongside Snoop Dogg and Luke James (the singer who kills the hook) for one of the album's standout cuts "Persevere". Stream both very solid cuts below, with "Persevere" being my *Tibs Fav. pick of the two with Black Radio 2 a must-buy.

One more preview off the upcoming Black Radio 2 by the Robert Glasper Experiment as "Trust" is the album's concluding track featuring Marsha Ambrosius and Common. Marsha carries this record with some sultry singing on what sounds like it would be a fitting end for an album. You may be surprised, pleasantly, by Common's feature — a spoken word verse, and a poignant one at that. A perfect track for chilling out this weekend and beyond!
Another nice preview of Black Radio 2 as Robert Glasper tabs U.K. singer Emeli Sande for the official new single "Somebody Else".
Flat out, this one's a groove. A soothing instrumental, catchy chorus, and an overall vibe that even the most casual listener would appreciate. There's a clear difference in this one, compared to the previous three tracks I posted too, ha!
Chi-Town stand up! This hometown collab is of an unusual mix, but one that makes sense given Patrick Stump's numerous crossovers into hip hop. He's on the hook, with Common spittin' the verses, and the Robert Glasper Experiment providing the beautiful piano backdrop to this thoughtful, lyrical record off RGE's upcoming Black Radio 2. Common's verses will keep you comin' back too, I especially enjoyed those. And once the piano hits, it'll likely transform your mood. It did for me and as you'd assume by now, "I Stand Alone" is an instant *Tibs Fav.
Via the New York Times, it's been revealed that Robert Glasper has a star-studded lineup for Black Radio 2 — the follow-up to the must-have first album that drops October 29th.
- Patrick Stump
- Snoop Dogg & Lupe Fiasco (on a song called "Perservere")
- Norah Jones
- Jill Scott
- Anthony Hamilton
- Faith Evans
- Emeli Sandé
- Marsha Ambrosius
- Luke James
Um, wow. I'm a fan of all those artists, most recently Emeli Sande as we saw her headline the ASOS Lounge last night during Lolla weekend. The Times goes on to say that Black Radio 2 will consist of mainly originals as opposed to the mainly covers on Black Radio. Looking forward to this fall!

Sometimes we find ourselves in a relationship where no one wants to admit they are wrong... and no one is bold enough to say they are right… Then we end up stuck.
There is the preface for the very strong 1st preview of Terrace Martin's upcoming album, 3ChordFold. "No Wrong No Right" is a revealing tale in collaboration with a couple of other soulful artists in their own right: Robert Glasper & James Fauntleroy. Combined, the unique styles of all three lend for a mood-changing, engaging record. The vocals, lyrics, and even the outro where the production shines are all on point. Instant *Tibs Fav. and my favorite new track of the day.
