First let me say thanks to everyone that have supported my “Top 5 Songs Of The Week” and everyone that has support Gowhere in general. We greatly appreciate it.
Now that we’ve gotten the sappy stuff out of the way let’s get into the music.
When I first pressed play on this song I almost immediately started nodding my head. This track is perfect riding music, and from the screen shots that I saw for the video it’s going to be just as epic as the song.
With Loso’s Way 2 coming soon you had to expect Fab to drop a new single that featured a top R&B singer. After having several successful mixtapes it’s good to see another album coming from Fab.
Joe Budden in my opinion is one of the most underappreciated artists in hip-hop. He has consistently delivered on all of his albums and mixtapes since he came into the game. His new album “No Love Lost” drops February 5th.
I feel like the casual listener won’t appreciate this song, but if you care about what it takes to write a song and everything that goes into it then you understand why I included this.
200eighties is slowly taking shit over right now. After signing with Stones Throw Julian gave us this dope new track, hopefully this means we can expect more new music from him in the near future.
Another week and another list for you all to enjoy. As always feel free to comment and let me your thoughts.
After looking over this weeks Top 5, four out of the five songs are really that kind of zone out to music so I hope you all get that same feeling that I did when I was putting this list together. Lets not waste anymore time and get into these tracks.
Easily the most anticipated song that so many people have been looking forward to in a long time. I compared it to the Mayan calendar, and though the song didn't live up to all the anticipation that it had recieved it still did better then the Mayans. I think it was a solid return for Justin, an I'm still pretty confident that the final album is going to be dope as hell.
There isn't much that can be said about this song that hasn't already been said. The obvious new attraction to this song is hearing Big Boi and Andre 3K on the same song again. Hopefully we won't have to wait another couple of years before we hear them together again because this just reminds us how great they are together.
This is a song that I fear people might have over looked because of the unfimiliar name, but your hearing it here first. Mr. Gage is dope. I've known about him because I'm homies with his camp SUH, but this is my first time hearing his music and I am very impressed. Stay in tuned with this guy.
Murph Watkins finds himself in my Top 5 yet again. Every time I hear new music from him I can't help but to think a better version of Curren$y and this song furthered that idea. Listen for yourself and tell me I'm wrong.
The final song on this weeks list is a definite change of pace compared to the other four songs on the list. When I listen to this it serves its purpose, which to me is club/riding music. If your looking for a dope track to kick off the night to "Millions" is for you.
So that's this weeks list, hope you liked it and if you didn't feel free to tell me about it.
Possibly the most popular song in hip-hop right now has finally got a remix worth talking about. Even though the song doesn't have one of those classic verses from Trinidad the song is still as dope as the original. This beat was made for 2 Chainz and he killed it.
One of the most under appreciated artist from Chicago plain and simple. This song is just another example of his skilled and ability to out write a lot of artist from Chicago. If your still sleep on Add-2 do your homework.
For some reason this is a rumored track to be on Lil Wayne next album. If it doesn't make the cut then this will be another terrible decision to add to his growing list which already includes his new forehead tattoo.
Calez has been releasing a lot of dope music lately and is another artist that you all need to do your homework on if your not up on him and his 2008ighties team.
I'm not 100% sure what I like about this song but it grew on me after a few listens. Smooth verses and hook, and a change of pace from the other music I've been listening to recently. Is it me or has R. Kelly been making his rounds in the hip-hop world recently.
That's this weeks Top 5 so let the disscusion begin. Feel free to let me know your thoughts.
When you look at the names on this track you can't help but get excited about the potential of the song, and I have to say that it lived up to the expectations. All the verses were solid, the production was dope and Kris Stephens sounded great. Make sure to go grab Trouble Man Heavy Is The Head today.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Soul when I first heard him, now every time I hear a new track from him it seems like he's getting colder. TDE has to have the strongest camp right now and Soul is furthering that belief for me right now.
The reason this song made the list this week had nothing to do with song and I want to make sure I put that out there first. The reason I put this song on the list was soley because my name was spelled out in the hook, and I imagined me leaving a club one night and the hook playing as I walked out the door. Call me what you want but everybody wishes they had some sort of theme music or exit music now I do.
I feel like this was probably the most overlooked but cold as hell song from last week. Gemstones take on December 21st and what's to come for the world period I feel like musically came across great. Regardless of what you believe something is happening in the world and shout to Gemstones for speaking on it.
Dido has great taste when it comes to the rappers that she works with, going from the amazing voice that was on Stan with Eminem now featuring Kendrick on her newest single. The song is dope as hell and K-Dot compliment the track perfectly.
That's this week list, as always let me know what you think in the comments or hit me up on Twitter.
Well, well, well, we meet again for another one of my RiP's Top 5 Songs of The Week. Let's jump right into because I know you all having been waiting on this(wishful thinking).
This was already one of the more solid tracks from Cruel Summer to me, and I was always curious why 2 Chainz was even on the song with such a short verse. This was a good come back and 2 Chainz did his thing by himself.
I bet this is a real surprise, I have a Big Boi track in my Top 5(internet sarcasim). Once again Big Boi delivers, to bad this one didn't make the final cut, but I will be adding it to my iPod none the less.
Having Kendrick Lamar on your album has become as important to rappers as a Stove to a chef. Even though only on the hook I think most people will attract to the song because they'll see featuring Kendrick Lamar. Dope song regardless, and Scarface is still a beast even after not releasing much in the past.
This soundtrack is starting to sounding like it might be one best to come out in a long time as far as urban music goes. John Legend delivered on this just like Ross did last week.
First let me start off by saying that Common KILLED his verse. I was looking forward to an actual verse from Ye, but the song still was pretty dope.
So that's this weeks list, if you got opinions feel free to voice them in the comments of to me on Twitter.Until next week friends, two fingers to the side.
Ok so I know I said I was going to be doing my Top 5 songs of the week every Tuesday but things were kind of heavy the past two days but I'm back on top of my game. I'm still going to be using the same time frame of Monday to Moday so that I not cheating. So that being said lets get into it.
I really like the vibe that I got from this song when I first heard it on Fabolous The Soul Tape. It was real chill but at the same time I was still able to give a strong head nod. Minus Fab the song is still pretty dope.
So every song that Big Boi has released leading up to Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors has made its way to my Top 5 songs list and this one is no different. I really rock with this beat, Big Boi killed his verses as he usually does, and Cudi really sounded like the Cudi from his first album which was the best Cudi to me.
First I want to give a shout out to Jamie Foxx for the production. This beat is crazy and I honestly would never expect this from Jamie Foxx. Rick Ross complimented the beat very well and made the overall song that much better. Looking forward to hearing the entire soundtrack.
This is my curve ball of the week. I not really into much of the "Drill" music but when I heard this it sounded more like it meant something to Durk. He wasn't just rapping over the beat but instead telling the personal story of Lil Durk. Need more like this from him.
This is the song that I probably only listen to when I'm driving my car or after a few drinks in the club. I have to be in a certain mood to really enjoy this but when I'm in that mood this will be my shit.
So that this week Top 5. Sorry about the delay and as always feel free to comment. Two fingers to the side.
I'm back at it with my Top 5 Songs of The Week. This week is was pretty easy for me for some reason, I listened to all the songs and these 5 jumped out at me right away. So that being said lets get to the list.
I know I don't put these in any type of order but this song is my number one song of the week, and I might add it to next week's list just because it's that damn cold. Alicia and Maxwell are two of the most amazing singers of our generations and them together just furthered that belief for me.
The Boy Illinois is getting ready to release his next project 'The Memiors Of Gilbert Gaston' and he has two dope single leading up to that release in early December.
Big Boi did it again. So far from the songs that have dropped from Big Boi he has taken full advantage of the features he has. T.I. and Ludacris killed this, the beat is hard as hell, Big Boi did his things as usual, and he even added a thought provoking sample at the end. 'Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors' is going to NICE.
T.I. is a two time winner this week. It's hard to see any song with Andre 3000 on it not being in the top songs of the week, and I am not going to test that theory. T.I. spit a solid verse and 3k did something that he doesn't often do by letting us into his personal life when mentioning the apologizes to his mother, Big Boi, and "Baby Mother".
The Dream to me is real hit or miss. I really liked his first album but hated his second. This song reminds me of the music from his first album so I'm hoping this album will continue down this path and be a hit overall.
So that's this weeks list from me hope you all enjoy. Always feel free to comment with your thoughts and opinions. Til next week, two fingers to the side(that's peace to you don't get it).
So as promised I'm back again with my top 5 songs from the past week, and just so that we are all clear I going from Monday to Monday and posting on Tuesday. Like I said before these aren't in any type of order they are just tracks that I feel you all should give a second listen. So let's jump into this week's tracks.
If the first wasn't cold enough Ye comes back and makes it even better. What I liked most about this song though was that I got more of a College Dropout/Late Registration vibe from him and I feel that's what a lot of Kanye fans are looking for.
Even though the track was pretty short it still managed to accomplish everything you could want from a song. The production was dope and the verse strong from start to finish. (Sorry for chopping off the left side of the image this one was shaped a little different.)
The song by its self was dope already so adding a Kanye verse to it was like Donald Trump winning the lottery. Not a big fan on RiRi but this song I rock with.
If you don't smoke or drink but want to get an idea for the type of zone it puts you in, turn the lights down and turn this song up. Wiz and Juicy J made all of the stoners around the world proud with this one. I hope me posting this doesn't say too much about me.
So that's this week's "Top 5", if you have any comments please feel free to voice them. See yall next week.
So for those who don’t me I’m RiP and I’ve been with Gowhere for about a year now blogging. For those familiar with the site every now and again Tibs might post a song and add somewhere in the post *Tibs Fav. so we came up with idea that we all should do something similar. So every Tuesday I’m going to be posting RiP’s Favs from the previous week. They aren’t going to be in any particular order, but are just my favorite’s songs that were posted on the site that I think you all should definitely be giving a second listen. So with that being said here are my favorite tracks from the past week.
Off of his next project The Memoirs Of Gilbert Gaston which is set to drop early December, Illi gives us one of his most catchy songs to date. Production on this is really solid as usual from Rel Elite, but as the song says I’m not trying to say 2 much.
Big Boi in my opinion is one of the most under appreciated artists in hip-hop, and his verse on this song and the song period is another example of this. The beat is crazy, A$AP Rocky killed the first verse, and I find myself looking forward to another Big Boi album.
I haven't always been a fan of J. Cole, but once I did become one he hasn't had to many misses in my opinion. The song has a real somber vibe to but I still found myself nodding my head hard as hell and I think you all will to.
I'm not completely sold on The Weeknd yet, I loved House of Balloons but wasn't really feeling his other two releases that much. This song is very much down the lines of House of Balloons. His album Trilogy dropped today so make sure to go grab that.
Lastly is the beautiful Alicia Keys. Its really hard to go wrong with adding a Alicia Keys track to any list of top songs. She is really coming back strong and this song is only furthering that. If this "Brand New" Alicia Keys is anything like the old one then we can expect some crazy music from her in the future. Shout Out to Swizzy just cause.
I'll be posting this list every Tuesday (hopefully) so please feel free to comment with any disagreements and/or suggestions. If I don't get to your comments on here make sure to hit me up on the twitter. Peace
