Chase And Status recruits Pusha T for this banger off their upcoming album, Brand New Machine. Definitely a heavy electro/dubstep vibe for Pusha to rhyme over. Borderline *Tibs Fav. status, this one's worth a shot for your rotation.
A standout collab from King Chip's new 44108 mixtape that dropped earlier today as he teams up with familiar Cleveland collaborators, Kid Cudi & Dot Da Genius on the beat and Cudi on the hook, with an added assist from Pusha T. This one's a groove. Cop this and the mixtape above.
We all know that Pusha T is very creative and has a very unique mind when it comes to the culture of art. As it gets closer to his "My Name is My Name" album release (which will drop October 8th, 2013), Kanye West decides that it is now time to release two of his album covers (Push tweeted Kanye is handling all the marketing. DONDA designed the covers.) Each album cover is pretty unique and as we all know, art has many stories with different views from each person who takes a look at it.
My favorite has to be the second album cover. The second cover is Pusha T in all black shadow print with a pure white background. This particular cover reminds me of Kanye's "BLKKK SKKKNHEAD" music video. This shows you that they are all about the G.O.O.D Music Family movement. Although I think that the second album cover is dope, you all may feel different. So, what do you all think of the album covers? Which one is you favorite and which one would you love to see as his front cover?
Tonight's big-name drop comes from Pusha T and his new single with Chris Brown called "Sweet Serenade". I'm immediately gravitating to the mix of club and bravado from both CB on a vocally altered hook (that sounds good) and Pusha T puttin' down some signature Ric Flair "Whoo!" chants amongst some dope lines. The production is on point as well with every aspect of this song hitting the right chord. My Name Is My Name drops October 8th.
King Push finally gets a date for My Name Is My Name and it's just around the corner on October 8th via G.O.O.D. Music. In a rundown of confirmed features and producers, you can expect Pusha T to be joined by Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, Future, Rick Ross, Kelly Rowland, Young Jeezy, Chris Brown and Ab-Liva with production by 'Ye, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, Nottz, Don Cannon, and The-Dream. That's a nice list of collaborators (via Billboard).
One more Pusha Tidbit (see what I did there?) from today is his mention with brother No Malice for their classic "Grindin" on Grantland's entertaining "The Best Rejected Songs of the Millennium" list. This fun read contains writeups on that, and other superb choices from the past decade-plus in urban and pop music. Enjoy! (And enjoy the weekend!)
Here's a new single that'll land on MMG's Self Made 3 September 17th: "Know You Better" a seductive R&B track from Omarion with Pusha T & Fabolous. Solid across the board and worth an add in your roto.
The most anticipated collab from No Malice's upcoming album, Hear Ye Him, is a "reunion" if you want to call it that with brother Pusha T. This one doesn't disappoint as Malice sets the tone with a couple great verses and Pusha addresses the assumption that since the brothers split off in solo careers and Malice found God that they had a falling out too. Nope, not the case. Turn the volume up on this one! I love the beat and the rhymes, with my one critique being the hook (but perhaps that'll grow on me to the level of the other song's aspects).
Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash, and now producing for Pusha T
In a crossover you most certainly wouldn't expect, Joaquin Phoenix is slated to produce on Pusha T's upcoming album, My Name Is My Name. Push revealed such in a new interview with VIBE:
“When I turned [the album] in June, [Kanye] gave me probably two or three new beats,” said Push. “One of those beats was from Joaquin Phoenix, and it’s probably gonna be … I want it to be the intro to my album.”
Jury's out on whether this collab will be a good one til we hear it of course. But the superstar actor should add even more intrigue to My Name Is My Name.
