Isn't it fun when rappers join ESPN programming? Usually it's First Take, but last week it was Pusha T on SportsNation to discuss Kobe Bryant's #25 player rank by ESPN's #NBARank (ha.. everyone gets so caught up in rankings) as well as Michael Vick and Kevin Durant amongst others. Watch and hear Push's thoughts above, with MNIMN of course in stores now.
This unique collab is from Linkin Park's upcoming remix album, Recharged, and it features a DJ Vice flip of "I'll Be Gone" with a fitting addition of Pusha T. I like this, and like the album's other hip hop track featuring Bun B even more. Hear that on Recharged October 29th!
Welp, this track got a little less fun. Joaquin Phoenix disclaimed to XXL today that he had no part in producing the record for the intro track to MNIMN, stating,
"While it was widely reported that Pusha T used my beat and that I produced his song, I can’t take any credit. A friend’s son played me his music, and all I did was make an introduction to Kanye’s camp."
- Joaquin Phoenix
Kinda feels like a poor game of "Telephone", no?
Dah well. The track is easily an ear-catcher, no matter who produced it. It should be interesting to read the liner notes in a few days on October 8th. The video, released this last week, can be seen above. The most badass Pusha T GIF from the video can be seen below.
