We are less than a week away from one of the most awaited releases in Chicago HipHop of 2013. Scheme & DJ Scend will be releasing "Pocket Full of Pesos", a project composed of both lyrics in English and Spanish. The features on the project consist of many of the SRNC and Molemen roster as well as many notable collaborations Scheme has made throughout the year. The project features Astonish, DJ Scend, Jamal Science, Los Rakas, and Clew Rock. Pocket Full of Pesos is one of Scheme's labor of love as it contains much of his upbringing, culture, and struggles through his heartfelt and thought provoking lyrics.
Scheme unleashes his inner wild child and gets militant on the mic with his latest work of art, "The Crooked Ones". Sonically the track fuses psychedelic rock with some soul as Scheme brings his vision to life through his freedom fighting flows. This single will form part of an upcoming project Respect All, Fear None that will be entirely produced by The Analyst. Scheme is also slated to release Pocket Full of Pesos, a project packed with Spanish and English tracks very soon.
Scheme revisits an old track to polish and improve it as he releases a new mix to one of my personal favorites, "The Dive", which was released earlier this year. In this version we get details perfected as Oscar Castillo embellishes the track with his epic guitar solo at the end of the track. The Falside produced track hits heavy as it reassured itself through Scheme's lyricism as to how much of a powerful track about love and lust this track could become. Don't sleep on this track, it's an instant Chicago Hip-Hop classic!
Scheme continues his impressive set of summer releases with "YNT [Young N Thuggin] Remake". Scheme services the Prodigy and Domo Genesis track in his attempt to illustrate his pain and struggles at the current stage in his career. Scheme talks about the early issues of breaking into the game, his upbringing, the struggle to become a marketable rapper as well as getting the attention of record labels by resorting to begin to rap in Spanish. An incredibly touching and heavy hearted track is what Scheme brings to you in illustrating the pain that comes with the glory road of representing an ill-fated city with much hope. Scheme's "YNT Remake" will form part of his upcoming Pocket Full Of Pesos mixtape which will be composed of raps in both Spanish and English. Pocket Full of Pesos is slated to release on September 23. Till then Scheme's summer schedule will consist of finishing of several side projects he is currently working on.
"Juan Blaze" is Scheme's latest single that will be featured on his upcoming all-Spanish mixtape Pocket Full Of Pesos, which will be released on September 23. What I find intriguing about "Juan Blaze" is how Scheme plays homage to four different Latino Hip-Hop entities in not only sampling the intro from the Calle 13 and Orishas track "Pal Norte", but as well as remaking Fat Joe's "John Blaze" that featured Big Pun. To those that are not familiar with any of the four names I just mentioned just know this, they are the most successful Hip-Hop entities and individuals in Latino Hip-Hop history. Scheme uses "Juan Blaze" to showcase his Spanish lyrical abilities to the greatest of his capabilities by spitting FUEGO (fire) and showcasing why he is among the elite of Chicago emcees and Latino emcees doing their thing in today's music business.
