Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Robin Thicke and Pharrell were the musical guests, performing the #1 song in the country: "Blurred Lines". Fans were in for a treat though when Jimmy Kimmel aired the unedited version of the "Blurred Lines" video. No, not this one. But the one that had Jimmy Kimmel and Guillermo in it. Unfortunately they were cut out of the final edit... because this was hilarious (as I couldn't contain my excitement for on Twitter last night). Haha, just everything about it. I have to agree with Jimmy and say this version was better. Oh wait, no I don't.
Watch and enjoy the parody that Thicke & Pharrell played along with above, and of course, watch the performance for real below. (Tagging this in 'Funny Moments' btw)
Here's MySpace's trendy way to announce its return — a commercial of a wide range of well-known musicians having fun! That's why you see Chicago's Chance The Rapper reppin' in the thumbnail on the homepage, as he is joined by the likes of Pharrell, Mac Miller, Riff Raff, Ciara, Hit-Boy, Schoolboy Q, and more. Fun commercial that represents the brand's new essence. Let's see if it carries over to return the social platform to a level where it once was. MySpace.com — I'll be with you in checking it out.
Robin Thicke, T.I., and Pharrell have the #1 single in the country AND ARE BLOCKING ALL THE GIRLS!
"Blurred Lines" is now the country's #1 single. Robin Thicke's smooth hit, amplified by it's sexy NSFW video (below), has climbed the Billboard Hot 100 charts all the way to #1. I gotta say that the #1 song in the country was higher than I thought it would get. Even the top 10. But I just underrated how much of a smooth summer jam this is. And don't get me wrong either, I vibe with this song. Thicke and Pharrell got the good vocals and T.I. with a very nice verse — all on top of the latest gem in Skateboard P productions. I let this ride out with the windows down when it comes up in the Shuffle or radio. Congrats to Robin Thicke on his first #1 Hot 100 single!
Are you tired of "Get Lucky" yet? Hopefully not. And hopefully a new twist to the Daft Punk single will hold you over until the 10 minute remix comes that Daft Punk announced last week. That twist is above in the form of "The Evolution of 'Get Lucky'" as the song gets an unofficial remix by PV Nova through the decades. That means the song is cut up to reflect an iconic musical sound of every decade since the 1920s. My two favorites are the 60s and 80s. Overall, this one's a fun watch to follow above (how about the sunglasses too?) and can be downloaded below. One more shoutout to my homie Brugge who shared this with me yesterday (can he make it 3 in one day?!).
First, the coolest of the news for Big Sean: he graces this mural in his hometown of Detroit with fellow D-Town artists Mike Posner, SAYITAINTTONE, and Earlly Mac. That's a "Mama we made it!" moment if I've ever seen one. The mural looks dope! Congrats to all the artist involved.
One more Big Sean note: he spoke with MTV about working with Eminem after it was revealed he was in the studio with him last month. Sean says the collab will be a "Detroit classic" and is not sure whose album it'll appear on just yet. Watch the interview below.
A couple more news and notes: DJ Paul confirmed to HHDX that some Three 6 Mafia members are reuniting for a new group called Da Mafia 6iX. They all are: Gangsta Boo, Koopsta Knicca, Lord Infamous and Crunchy Black. Here's DJ Paul on talking with Juicy J:
"Given his absence in the new group, Paul also added that he has remained on good terms and is often in contact with Juicy J though they no longer collaborate musically: “We still talk. But no, I’m not on his album and we haven’t did nothing musically. But we still talk because we still own all the companies together, we still get big checks together, so we still talk business stuff but I’m not on the album."

And finally, a picture below was on Pharrell's Facebook page today; a studio session with Wiz Khalifa, Akon, Kelly Rowland, and Amber Rose was there. I thought I saw a photo of this before, but nevertheless, here it is. Should be a good collab.
2 Chainz' 1st single off the TBD titled upcoming album due September 10th. I couldn't get into this one; it's not quite smooth when it could have been had it featured more Pharrell. Not terrible, but not a smash hit IMO. We'll see, what do you guys think?
