As February gets inches closer more and more information about Beyoncé’s return starts to popup. What you’re looking at above is the first image from Beyoncé’s multi-year campaign with Pepsi. Read more below fromNY Times:
“In an expansion of the recent marketing experiments that have brought PepsiCo ever closer to the music industry, the company has embarked on a hybrid project with Beyoncé that will include standard advertising like commercials as well as a multimillion-dollar fund to support the singer’s chosen creative projects.
“Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”
The campaign will coincide with a blitz of promotion for her next album, which has no title or release date so far but is expected in 2013. Sometime after she performs at the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 3 (also sponsored by Pepsi), Beyoncé will appear in a new TV ad — her fifth for the soft drink since 2002 — and her face will be on a limited-edition line of soda cans.”
This deal is reportedly worth $50 million dollars yes $50 million dollars! Gotta love Beyoncé's work hustle because this deal is bomb! Earlier in the summer, PepsiMAX and Kyrie Irving collaborated to create one of the all-time instant greatest characters: Uncle Drew. Irving went through an elaborate makeover to play "Uncle Drew", an elderly, legendary hooper who's still out to prove he has some game. (Hint: He's Kyrie Irving, he's got game.)
Episode 2 premiered today and it's just as amazing. The premise: one Hall Of Fame center Bill Russell tells Uncle Drew to get the team back together, and his first stop is Wes out in Los Angeles, California. As Pepsi states, "Players and spectators at the basketball court were told that they would be filmed for some "basketball b-roll footage" for a local TV station. In a somewhat related note, I wanted to put some shine on Wes, a.k.a. Kevin Love's new efforts to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. He linked up with Larry Fitzgerald to produce this video below as the all-pro WR shaves the Olympic gold medalist's head like those with breast cancer have to do due to the chemotherapy. Beyoncé aka the hardest working woman in the business was spotted filming a new Pepsi commercial. Word on the street is this commercial will be aired during Super Bowl XLVLL next year. Pepsi is also sponsoring the halftime show as well, and if you’ve been living under a rock you know that Beyoncé will be holding the stage down at next years Superbowl halftime show. Nicki Minaj and her many personalities will reportedly join Mariah Carey at the judging table on American Idol as stated by US Weekly. Two sources have confirmed that Nicki is 100% in.
"I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it," one insider reveals. "A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening."
A second source says the "Super Bass" rapper, 29, is "100% confirmed to judge American Idol." Rumors of Minaj joining Idol have been running ramped for awhile now, and today or sometime this week seems to be the we might get a confirmed yes from either Fox or Minaj herself.
This is a great career move if Nicki does in fact join Idol. Two number albums, world tour, Adidas deal, and Pepsi deal Minaj can’t be stopped. Why would she pass up the chance to take her career to new highest, and to also sit along side legend Mariah Carey? It’s a win win if you ask me.
