Papoose let loose of a Big Sean diss with a flurry of direct shots aimed at the rapper for seemingly everything about his career while going in over Sean's own song "First Chain". Plus, this artwork. Hah! I dunno about Papoose taking these shots... is this just hurting him at this point?
Weigh in with your thoughts and rating (I doubt Big Sean will, hah)
I'm not gonna lie... I laughed at some of the Papoose jokes on Twitter immediately after Kendrick made waves with the "Control" verse. I was hoping the chatter would end there, but sure enough, Papoose lets loose his response to Kendrick's "I'm the king of NY" line with an array of aggressive shots fired back at him and the TDE camp. This is of course precursored with a thanks for the Hot 97 invite, hah. I'm sorry, I think Papoose is talented and he has some clever rhymes in most all his songs (including this one), but his rep has taken a hit and his buzz has died down that I can't help but think of that in this response. I feel like I have a longer leash than most too and there are fans that'll automatically dismiss this (hence all the jokes.)
All that said, this is a listen for curiosity's sake — he doesn't hold back the entire track and it's probably the response with the most vitriol towards Kendrick this week. And oh yeah, Big Sean, Kanye West, and Drake are on the receiving end of a few lines. What do you all think?
