Nicki Minaj was on The View this morning and amongst the topics discussed were her recently announced gig as a judge on American Idol (and the subsequent rumored beef with fellow judge Mariah Carey), her 'Pink Friday' perfume (*moves towards edge of seat*), and some positive words of encouragement towards her young fans. Watch above and below in case you missed it on TV.
Before it was even set in stone that Nicki Minaj was joining American Idol as a judge, rumors ran rampant that Mariah Carey had some sort of beef with her. Word spread like wildfire that Mariah and Nicki couldn’t get alone, but the diva herself put those rumors to rest at a recent press conference on Monday.
“How are we gonna feud in two days? Let the feud take a little longer to spread out. It’s fun. It’s music. It’s singing. It’s laughter,” Mariah jokingly said.
I honestly don’t know how this rumor even started nor why people believed it? I’m just going to guess that everyone forgot about this? All I know is I can’t wait till this season of idol starts. I’m currently planning my next semester classes around the show so I don’t miss Mariah. And yes it is that deep for me!
It was rumored, and now confirmed, that Nicki Minaj will be a judge, joining Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson, for the upcoming 12th season of American Idol. Apparently, FOX will be having a press conference of the announcement tomorrow, which of course raises the question, American Idol judge announcements are worthy of press conferences?
That didn't take long. Taking to her twitter account, Nicki Minaj set the story straight of her Romney line after President Obama had commented on it after he was asked of the situation in an earlier interview this morning. Nicki stated her appreciation for his understanding of her humorous and sarcastic side. She also sent her *love and support* to the President. Do you believe Nicki and her "Make Up" tweet?
Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do... *sends love & support* @barackobama
On her verse on Lil Wayne's "Mercy" track, Nicki Minaj took many people by surprise with her Mitt Romney endorsement. Well luckily, we have a "hip" President who called into Power 95.3 and took a quick minute to discuss the matter when the question was brought up. President Obama speaks that it was probably just her "playing a different character" as she likes to do so often and I really hope he's right. Take a listen to what Mr. President had to say in its entirety above!
Alicia Keys is wasting no time for the new start of pushing her new album Girl On Fire. Following her performance for last nights VMA’s Reebok also released her commercial for them. The songstress introduces her new classic kicks inspired by her new single ‘Girl On Fire’ featuring Nicki Minaj.
