Treated Crew and LOD (Legion of Dudes) member Auggie the 9th isn't your ordinary rapper and #GAWS is not your ordinary Hip-Hop mixtape, which is totally fine. Living in an era where rappers embrace the lavish lifestyles this project takes a step back and embraces the individual, the common man, as well as the inner geek in us all, which is a reason why this is one of 2013's most interesting projects. This isn't your generic project which is a great example of how creative Auggie The 9th is in allowing us to enter his mind and learn more about the simple things in life that he appreciates through his music. The format of the mixtape is very interesting because it encompasses various forms of HipHop in the inclusion of trap, boom bap, as well as electronically and alternatively infused instrumentals with the sampling of Auggie's interests that range from anime, 90's professional-wrestling, 90's cartoons, and video games. The features and production on this project are phenomenal as they include Na$im WIlliams, Nick Astro, Savier from Animuse, Clark Parker among other for production and features Blakkass Westley, ShowYouSuck, Cadillac Duke, among others adding verses to the project. Auggie The 9th's debut project goes beyond Hip-Hop, it's music without a border or restrictions, which is more of a reason to give it a listen.

One of the most interesting tandems that you'll need to pay attention to will be the collaborations between Chicago producer Na$im Williams and Riverside, California femcee Camay. Today we get a snippet to "Modern Monroe", a smooth Na$im production that samples Donell Jones' "Have You Seen Her". The track "Modern Monroe" illustrates why Camay, like a Marilyn Monroe of the modern era, is one of the baddest and lyrically driven emcees in today's Hip-Hop game.
The California journeywoman, has been perfecting her craft for over a decade. The journey for Camay and Na$im is not close to being finished as both have a mutual project that is set to release sometime in 2014.
As for the release of the full version of "Modern Monroe", it is set to drop until the new year and will be showcasing Treated Crew member Gzus Piece. Stay in tune and peep the phenomenal track!
Out of the Treated Crew vaults comes "Waterfall", a track originally recorded back in 2012. The Na$im Williams and Fortified Sounds produced track gets an assist from Sulaiman with a great verse over a smooth instrumental. Enjoy!
Chicago emcee Doc and Treated Crew producer Na$im Williams link up for the phenomenally produced track, "Gone". The instrumental comes off Na$im's currently released The Symbiote EP. Both Doc and Williams have been combining forces and making their collaborations one of the most solid tandems in Chicago Hip-Hop, which will be continuing to happen as these two artists are set to release more music together in the near future.
Treated Crew producer Na$im Williams connects with C. Rich for "Bad/Heart". The track samples R&B legend, Maxwell and this has been the latest Na$im beat to get attention since the release of his EP, The Symbiote. Enjoy!
Last time Doc and Na$im Williams linked up was in summer anthem "61 Lilies". Chicago emcee Doc and Treated Crew producer Na$im Williams bless us with "Grateful", a record that acknowledges the violence in Chicago and adds a spin to this issue through humility and being able to live yet another day to bless this city with great, empowering music to bump to. Enjoy!
Treated Crew soldier, Na$im Williams gives you pure Venom in his latest instrumental project, The Symbiote EP. Williams drew inspiration for this project from the current state of violence going on in the city of Chicago. He uses "The Symbiote" a symbol that juxtaposes good and evil through Stan Lee's character Venom in the Spider-Man series as the theme behind this project. Williams also draws inspiration from Lil Boosie, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Sade, and other childhood/current interests in the process of creating this project during the summer. If this is any indication of Chicago Hip-Hop it is that Na$im through this project cements himself among the elite producers that continue to carry Chicago's current youth driven Hip-Hop movement.
Treated Crew's Na$im Williams releases "Bound 2.5" in anticipation of his upcoming release, The Symbiote. "Bound 2.5" is Na$im's remix to Kanye West's "Bound 2" off the recent Yeezus album. As for Na$im Williams, he is currently developing The Symbiote, an EP that will be composed of his latest work and newest collaborations. The Symbiote is slated to release in late September/Early October, until then you are able to attend Na$im's listening party for The Symbiote in September. "Bound 2.5" is just a taste of what Na$im Williams, Treated Crew's youngest in charge brings to the table.
