Miguel is releasing his upcoming album, Kaleidoscope Dream, in a unique fashion by releasing 2 EPs prior to the album's release on October 2nd. July was the first preview - The Water Preview - featuring 3 tracks that were all *Tibs Favs. (with "Don't Look Back" an all-caps *TIBS FAV. that I still have in my rotation).
Today, Miguel officially puts out The Air Preview - the 2nd EP of 3 new tracks off the upcoming album for stream only above (you can purchase the tracks on iTunes this Tuesday). "Do You...", the album's title track, and "The Thrill" are all new tracks that continue to illustrate Miguel's unique, futuristic, and powerful sound. I appreciate both the production value and vocals on display on all three tracks - I really can't see me wanting to turn these off if it comes on in the R&B shuffle. That said, I would say I'm lukewarm on all three of the tracks, with "The Thrill" potentially possessing the replayability of a "Don't Look Back". Stream the EP above and hear for yourself - one I would easily suggest this weekend.
Plus, we were so intrigued about Miguel's approach to releasing Kaleidoscope Dream that Samantha Lebbos asked him about the 2 EPs dropping before the album last month at Lollapalooza. Watch our interview with Miguel below, in case you missed it!
As Miguel preps for his sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream, to drop on October 2nd, today he reveals the cover art for the project (above). A side from just the artwork, you can also view the tracklist to the album as well below. Can't wait! Swerve.

Newly dubbed PBR&B (Pabst Blue Ribbon/Rhythm & Blues), after the choice "hipster" beer, has been growing. Lyrically-layered, emotional verses, lo-fi rhythms, todays R&B artist are not afraid to lay it on the line. Frank Ocean, Drake,Miguel are leading the pack of breaking and new grounds. Recently coming out about his bisexuality, Frank Ocean risked his commercial success just a week before releasing Channel Orange. Taking influences from Marvin Gaye and the Temptations just to name a few, I like where today's R&B is going.
Miguel jumps in style for the new cover art for his upcoming 3 track EP titled, Kaleidoscope Dream: The Air Preview. You will be able to cop the EP on iTunes on September 11th and full album October 2nd.
