Lupe Fiasco took to Twitter to announce a flurry of upcoming singles and albums due out in the next six months or so. Definitely looking forward to all of these; we had known of FL2GARApt2 for next spring, but not SNDCLSH and the Japanese Cartoon re-release (ITJOTLOD still gets some good run in my shuffle). Lots to look forward to Lupe fans!
(In the meantime, here's the title sequence to the 2012-13 Chicago Bears sit com)
Via Twitter, Lupe reveals a Spring 2013 release for FL2: The Great American Rap Album Part 2. Looks like he's not stopping after Part 1, huh? (And he really wants to wrap up that Atlantic deal, I'm sure). Lookin' forward to see Lupe keep it movin'. Part 1 in stores now!
Just airing an hour ago, Lupe Fiasco kicked it on the Late Night with Letterman stage once again, this time with Guy Sebastian joining him for a jazzy rendition of "Battle Scars". I equally liked this more mellowed out performance of the hit single as much as their more high-energy version on X-Factor: Australia recently. The live instrumentation really brought it to life and both Lu & Guy did their thing as well. One more highlight from the video is actually David Letterman introducing Lupe's new album (in stores now!), Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, with his signature dry sense of humor. Just watch. Hilarious moment. And oh yeah, go cop that new album! It's the only music in my roto at the moment...
Last night, Kendrick Lamar invaded Chi-Town and performed for a jam-packed Congress Theater crowd that was also treated to appearances from Kendrick's TDE Crew and Lupe Fiasco (hit the video to see Lupe co-sign Kendrick). Our own Bradley Murray captured the powerful moment on stage and more through the various photos you see above in the slideshow. Take a look and don't miss Kendrick Lamar when he comes to your city, and to stores on October 22nd with good kid, m.a.a.d. city.
