Yesterday's MTV RapFix had a jam-packed show with guests French Montana and Fat Joe flanked by four freshman (yup, that alliteration was on purpose) — Action Bronson, Logic, Travi$ Scott, and Dizzy Wright. Those four proceeded to spit 30 seconds of quick-hitting bars to conclude the show. You could tell the "no cursing" rule messed up Action's rhymes, but he begun things pretty well. Logic was the best with his slick rhymes and the "p" alliteration I wish there was more of (that was fire). The first half of his rhymes were a written? No matter though, because he spit those raps confidently, which was what I was felt was lacking with Travi$ and Dizzy afterward. Maybe it's just their energy in general but both of them had a lifeless delivery that didn't match the energy of Logic's or of the environment and beat in general. Just a one-time critique though for me personally; not gonna let that carry over into my interpretation of their future music. What did you guys think?!
Tyler Thomas is a newcomer with a co-sign from Logic on this fast-paced track "I Got This". Lyrically it's not the most deep track, but gotta respect the skill on display from both Tyler & Logic. Off the upcoming project, Higher Learning.
The new mixtape from Logic that's currently on the upper half of trending topics on Twitter! Proud to see his growth from the start and this project will likely get the attention of the casual listener after his deal with Def Jam and No I.D. and the XXL Freshman cover. We'll be back with more commentary after we give it a spin ourselves. Here's the back cover featuring more production credits. Mixtape Tracks
01. "Welcome To Forever" f/ Jon Bellion (prod. 6ix)
Here's Logic's new track off the 2013 XXL Freshman Tape as "Gone" includes the rhymes first heard in his Tim Westwood Freestyle last week. *Tibs Fav. on the words and flow alone. It's just a quick rap track to keep you in tune with Logic's skills. More to come in a week with Welcome To Forever dropping May 7th.
Did XXL save the best cypher for last? Dizzy Wright, Logic, and Angel Haze all do their thing over Jahlil Beats production in the 3rd of 3 cyphers for the annual freshman class (DJ Drama on the 1s & 2s). Dizzy impressed me with some thoughtful rhymes about his come-up and just on this rap alone, he's a little brighter on my radar now. If I haven't already, I'll go on record and say that Logic is my favorite emcee of this freshman class and he definitely saved some of his most hard-hitting bars for this one. The end of his rhymes are my favorite of the video as some clever scientist references lead into the official, in-your-face disclaimer that he's half-white, half-black. See how he delivers it and more, with Angel Haze's intensity continuing the flow nicely for a fitting conclusion.
Since Tibs has his Fav's and Rip now has his 5, I figured I might as well join in the action and bring you a little weekly list of my own. So every Friday I'll be hittin y'all with a few gems to ride out to on the weekend. A swagged out list of some of my favorite bumps which made their way on to the site during the week. I'd like to welcome y'all to "Ant's Week'In Raps." Fux with me G's.

No days off for the Jets as they continue to unleash a dope wave of heat. This Trademark and Young Roddy cut entitled "Welcome" comes off the upcoming Jet World Order 2 album. Lets hope we see these two back for next weeks #Raps.
TDE's genius mind, Ab-Soul connects with Joey Bada$$ on this dope groove you'll catch me bump on a cruise down LSD, as I soak in the clouds. #GO stream, snag, and stream again. This is "Enter The Void."
It sure has been a while since my homie over in the 301 released anything fresh. This week however Logic delivered on his promise and gave the fans a new release. Something which showcases the Maryland MC goin in over Nas' "NY State Of Mind." A straight vibe to tune in on while you're out and about enjoying the weekend.
Everyone knows that T.I.'s tracks have been a bit stale ever since he got locked up, then released, then locked up again, then released again, then locked up again...so on and so forth. This one entitled "Trap Back Jumpin'" however I feel is a step up for TIP. Lets hope his next single hits harder though. Bring back the #King.
Now #GO enjoy your weekend foolies! Take these and stay safe out there. #HappyFriday. #Salute!
Good to see young MD's Logic join forces with the hometown vet Mikkey Halsted. This break-neck freestyle will be off Don Cannon's upcoming mixtape, Steps Back Radio.
Fast flows, clever rhymes, and a freestyle you can rock with on first listen. *Tibs Fav. status, easy.
