Kid Cudi makes the announcement in Dallas at the Cud Life Tour
A NEW Kid Cudi EP? Yessurr.
And it will be cool how he releases it:
"When I give you the release date, it will be 24 hours before it’s released."
- Kid Cudi
He further stated that the EP will drop within the next three months and will bridge the storyline between Indicud and Man On The Moon 3, which will see a 2015 release (dang, that's over a year tho). Close collaborators King Chip & Dot Da Genius will be a part of the EP too.
If the production are the same previews that Cud played on tour, then whoop! We're in for a treat. As anyone else who's been to the tour so far can attest, those beats are hot.
In another edition of ICYMI, the new release that I think takes the cake for the past couple of days is J. Cole's short film for "Crooked Smile". I was expecting to see TLC in the video, but J. Cole had a different approach. Instead, there were no performance scenes and he told the story of himself as a drug dealer and a DEA agent after him. They each love their respective daughters but things take a sad turn when the DEA agent and his team take down Cole's character. The video is in memory of Aiyana Stanley-Jones, which if you read her story, you'll see how she was the inspiration. I'm sure I'm amongst many who felt emotional after taking this one in and so if you haven't seen it yet, I highly suggest you do when in the right mood. Brilliant job by Cole and director Sheldon Candis.
Logic, while currently on the Cud Life Tour, dropped a new release today featuring King Chip called "Two Kings". The two find themselves over a slick C-Sick production and both proceed to drop some real solid bars. Logic was smooth with his references, especially on the first verse, so this one will catch your ear off the bat.
A standout collab from King Chip's new 44108 mixtape that dropped earlier today as he teams up with familiar Cleveland collaborators, Kid Cudi & Dot Da Genius on the beat and Cudi on the hook, with an added assist from Pusha T. This one's a groove. Cop this and the mixtape above.
