Kid Cudi updates: Indicud, King Chip's debut, selling BAPE collection on eBay

Kid Cudi provided a slew of updates in a Twitter soliloquy earlier today (don't you love Twitter soliloquies?) that I can summarize below:

Indicud is coming at the top of the year, then he's focusing on King Chip's debut, scoring, then MOTM3. Indicud will not be a double-disc and will contain a maximum of 17 high-energy jams. The overall tone of Indicud is positive and confident with way more uptempos. He is creating an eBay account for the holidays where he'll put his BAPE collection up for fan bidding, dubbing it "Cud's Fresh Ass Closet Sale". And finally, he's working on a custom-designed hat with the good folks at New Era.

Scroll through Cudi's Twitter @Ducidni to read his own speak on the above (or if you don't believe me :D).

A few hours ago ChopStar Slim K dropped the third installment to his slowed and throwed mixtape series Purple Children. If you're into the chopped and screwed sound, you'll love this! These collabs with modern-day renaissance man Robert Gallardo are great mixes, through and through. A combination of hit songs and those of up and coming artists makes for a good balance of mainstream and underground, strung together with chops, phasers, and brakes. To fully enjoy the "H-Tyne" experience, listen to the tape cover to cover (the crossfades are unreal!) Check out Slim K's website for his other mixes, including PC 1 and 2.

Kid Cudi collaborating with RATATAT for 'Indicud'

Looks like Cudder was a 10 on the all-caps jibborish excitement scale to open his e-mail today and check out some new beats from RATATAT, which as you can see will make for the final pieces to his upcoming album, Indicud. I, and the nearly 50 million people who watched the video for "Pursuit Of Happiness", are looking forward to what they come up with next.

Kid Cudi producing 80% of upcoming album 'Indicud'

Cudi took to his tumblr earlier today to give us an update on his upcoming album, Indicud. Here he is above, puttin' in work, specifically stating he's producing 80% of the album. I'm excited to hear those new sounds, and hopefully some more of the quick flows from "Old School Caddy" - a song I simply can't get enough of still. This whole week I've been in a Kid Cudi phase so even this small bit of news is one I'm really welcoming.

Are you looking forward to Indicud? Which Kid Cudi album has been your favorite so far?

Kid Cudi at Rock the Bells Hip Hop Festival in Mountain View

Kid Cudi and Ice Cube brought the house down at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA. The Boost Mobile sponsored event traveled to three cities with the last one on Saturday, August 25th. A line of of 40 artists brought in a mixed bag of legends and rising stars. Both new and seasoned acts were featured.

Saturday's line-up featured performers such as Ice Cube, Salt-N-Pepa, Naughty by Nature, DMX, and tastes of the Wu-Tang Clan. Sunday followed with more legends such as Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Nas, and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.

New generation artists included Tyga, Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller and Yelawolf. The time warp line up of artist gave concert go-ers an up front and personal view of where hip hop is going today (hehe pun intended). Two-day passes were the only tickets sold filtering out those not committed to the line up. With a 20,000+ expected audience, 11 hours, and two stages that party was bumping all weekend long.

Veterans stepped up there game. Naughty by Nature performed such hits including the pioneering hit "O.P.P.", while Salt-N-Pepa brought back more hits and kept the cown Push(ing)-it.

However, mixed feelings towards the new comers such as Mac Miller and Yelawolf whose performances left the crowd feeling a bit lack luster. Did they get cold feel amongst their hip hop idols. Do we even dare to compare them to the legends of the art.

The night was topped off by a fantastic performce from Kid Cudi, with a mindblowing sound to seal the deal mixing hip hop and countless other genres.  There is hope for more pioneers of the game.
