Exciting news for everyone who has a ticket to the Yeezus Tour warm for later this fall: Flying Lotus is helping out Kendrick's show, and for those who are familiar with Lotus live, it looks like we'll be in for even more of a show when Kendrick opens up for Kanye. I've yet to see Lotus live, but have heard rave reviews second-hand from our own Who Dough (who called Lotus' set at SXSW his favorite). And hey, Kendrick's gotta match some of the theatrics that 'Ye will certainly have in store, right? This is a good thing people!
“Yeah and nothings been the same since they dropped ‘Control’ / And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes / Ha ha jokes on you, high-five Im bulletproof / Your shits a never penetrate, pin the tail on the donkey boy you been a fake”

Daaang. Thoughts on Kendrick's verse and shots fired at the BET Cyphers?
UPDATE: My reaction is akin to DeMarcus Cousins in the video below:
Kendrick Lamar was the latest guest on Arsenio's comeback new show yesterday as he talked with him about the praise he's been receiving from Ice Cube & Pharrell (notably, the Bob Dylan comparison (?)), the "Control" verse, and more.
Below, are a couple of performances from the show: "m.a.a.d. City" and "Collard Greens" with Schoolboy Q.

Jhene Aiko reveals in a new interview with VIBE a few really neat details about the collaborative process with Drake on Nothing Was The Same — both for her hook on "From Time" and the background singing on "Wu-Tang Forever".
"Were you a last-minute addition to "Wu-Tang Forever"?"
"Yeah, the first time we met to work together, he played me six songs. That was one of them and I was like, 'Can I sing on that? Can I just do a note?' and he was like yeah and I did that right away. I didn't even know if he was gonna keep it or not. I was just like, 'Dang I really, really like this song. I think it could use a female voice just a little bit.' I didn't even know "Wu-Tang Forever" was the name. I was so confused so when people were like 'Is that you?' I was like I've never done a song about Wu-Tang, let me see but that hook spoke to me and I can hear myself singing on it. When he played "From Time," there was nothing on it and I was so compelled to write."

"This time around, we actually met and he played me "From Time" and I was like 'Yeah, I wanna do this. Can I take this home and write to it?' and he was like, 'Yeah, take your time.' I had it for like a month and a half and I actually wrote something completely different to it. Then right before I sent it to him, I was like 'No, I wanna say something completely different. I want it to be like this.' I sent it to him and he was like, 'Oh my God, I love it.'"

Plus, Aiko revealed that Kendrick Lamar will be on her upcoming EP, Sail Out, of which the first track "Bed Peace" featuring Childish Gambino was released earlier this week (also below). Lookin' forward to the collab, especially with her description of what to expect.
"You've also placed on Wale's mixtape Folarin and Big Sean's album Hall of Fame so will they be returning the favor when it comes time for your album?"
"You know what, the only one returning the favor is Kendrick Lamar. He's gonna be on the Sail Out EP that's out in October but I don't take any offense to people not wanting to return the favor. I did the songs [with Wale, Sean, Cole] because I liked everything and I would want them to want to do a song of mine. Nowadays, No I.D. told me, 'You can stand on your own' and I agree with him. At the end of the day, if I just take an extra week to write a hot 16, I can do it."
"Will your song with Kendrick be a part two of "Growing Apart"?"
"No, our song is different. It's sexy but at the same time, it's very lyrical. It's a smart and sexy song."

“I never heard [Kendrick] talk like that,. When I listen to it, I felt [Kendrick's] last bars where [he's] saying, ‘I’m myself. I can dibble-dabble over here, but I can still show you this is myself, this is me, who I am. He really showed out."
- Pusha T
Pusha T talks with MTV above on the versatility Kendrick Lamar showed as a guest feature on his much-talked about single released earlier this week "Nosetalgia". My Name Is My Name drops October 8th.

Kendrick Lamar has come out as the top nominee for the 2013 Soul Train Awards. The artist is nominated for 6 awards: Best New Artist, Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Song of the Year.
Following Kendrick with 5 nominations each are Miguel, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Chris Brown, and Tamar Braxton. Notably left off the list of nominees is Kanye West, whose album Yeezus has been met with mixed reviews since its release earlier this summer.
