Newcomer R&B singer Meek DeMeo will make a big splash with this new, original verse from Kendrick Lamar for "Paper Birds". This definitely has a Weeknd vibe with DeMeo sounding good, but K. Dot providing the replayability with his fresh feature.
Drake had a "Mama we made it!!!" moment when he saw the iconic lyric to "Started From The Bottom" on a pack of Taco Bell Fire Sauce. Love those quotes on the sauce packet and it strangely but accurately gives the lyric yet another meaning, ha!
But that's not all: today's #FunnyMomentsInHipHop post includes a funny Vine I also saw while surfing the social medias... "Bitch Don't Kill My Vine" featuring Bill Cosby. Hahaha. If you didn't think Vine is awesome already, now you should.
Perhaps the new, most-anticipated track off Born Sinner, here is a HQ recording of "Forbidden Fruit" featuring Kendrick Lamar from J. Cole's Born Sinner listening session that was streamed worldwide in major cities tonight.
Two main things you'll notice right away:
1. A dope sample of ATCQ's classic "Electric Relaxation"
2. Kendrick only sings the hook and doesn't have a verse. I guess Cole wasn't joking when he said he's the only one rapping on the album. (Scottie Pimpen just commented here at the office: "Kendrick should have threw a verse on there. This is a duo track!" Couldn't agree more. Try not to let that disappoint you and take away from the track.)
But hey, that's all fine by me. J. Cole held it down with my highlight coming in the first half of the first verse with all the clever religious allusions. "Cole is the king most definite, my little black book thicker than the Old Testament" took me a second, then the light bulb went off. This one's definitely a groove throughout.
Lollapalooza has announced some hella decent aftershows for this year's fest. From big rooms to intimate venues, artists like Chance The Rapper and Kendrick Lamar are keepin the party goin' all night. There's damn near 40 aftershows, pre-partys, and such, but here are a few we think you should know bout.
Whoa! Ok, hip hop world... nay, music world... if you didn't have a song to look forward to before clicking this post, you do now. This pic hit the web today as Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, new TDE signeeIsaiah Rashad, and Royce Da 5'9" are all seen in the studio.
Any other thought besides, "I want to hear this collab!"?
