Thank you, SNL for showing us that we need a Kanye West / Kim Kardashian talk show in our lives. Props to Jay Pharoah for another on point impression. The show's host, Lady Gaga, also appears in the sketch. Watch and enjoy ICYMI.
1. This collab was led to be everyone photographed above during the making of the video VMA weekend. The track proves that there are only mere intros from Weezy & Yeezy.
2. You'll immediately shrug once you hear the track though. Busta and Q-Tip kill it. Fast flows, clear and easy-to-follow lyrics, and such a raw hip hop energy that I think any casual fan will raise their eyebrows and feel impressed.
3. The production — very ear-friendly with a dope soulful sample spliced in as well.
4. Let me run it back.
Look for this one on Busta's upcoming album, Extinction Level Event 2, and the video likely sooner than later.
UPDATE: Re-mastered by John Stewart. This version (above and below) sounds a lot cleaner.
Good, but possibly bad news, for Kanye fans! The tour is back on track after last week's auto accident derailed it with postponements. In a statement by Def Jam today, some of the cities have new, rescheduled dates; however, some are flat out canceled. Hopefully those cities will get something down the line.
Don't fret, local readers. The Chicago double dip are two of the newly rescheduled dates: December 17 & 18. Here's the full details:
THE YEEZUS TOUR WILL RESUME ITS SCHEDULED ROUTING ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH AT THE WELLS FARGO CENTER IN PHILADELPHIA, PA.
THE CHICAGO, TORONTO, AND DETROIT DATES HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED (SEE RESCHEDULED DATES BELOW).
DUE TO ROUTING LOGISTICS, THE VANCOUVER, DENVER, COLUMBUS, MONTREAL, MINNEAPOLIS AND ST. LOUIS SHOWS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED.
November 19th — you're circled. That's when David Blaine's new magic show and ABC special 'Real or Magic' will air, and when we get to see Blaine perform magic for countless celebrities. Among them: Kanye West & Woody Harrelson (!), Jamie Foxx (and friends), Katy Perry, Macklemore, Stephen Hawking, Woody Allen, Ricky Gervais, Harrison Ford, even George W. Bush, and more. Wow. Hopefully Aziz Ansari too after his "Black people are blown away by magic tricks" bit, ha! Here are a few more photos, with all of them coming from Blaine's Facebook page.
Thirty Seconds To Mars "City Of Angels" [Short Film]
"This city took my mother, but this city also gave me my child.
...The city of angels is my paradox. My nightmares are my dreams."
- Kanye West
Jared Leto directs this very powerful, inspirational, and creative new short film music video for his group Thirty Seconds To Mars' "City Of Angels", and as you'll see above, Kanye West is joined by a jam-packed list of A-list celebs to talk about the good and the bad of L.A. We've all heard these pros and cons of the entertainment industry at one point or another, but it's another thing to hear them from those who've experienced those extremes to the extreme — and presented one after another like this. For instance, it's amazing to see such contrast with fame, for example, as shortly after 5 minutes, Kanye says it's fucking awesome, followed right after by Ashley Olsen calling it an illusion.
The 11 minute film is primarily one confessional after the next, with the song and performance scenes from the gorgeous Griffith Observatory spliced in between. The A-Listers also include: Lindsay Lohan, Steve Nash, Olivia Wilde, James Franco, Juliette Lewis, Ashley Olsen, Lily Collins, Selena Gomez, Shaun White and Corey Feldman. Plus, Jared Leto himself says some poignant words to the camera about his story, along with a variety of Hollywood impersonators who tell their story. As one can also imagine, Kanye's honesty shines through with a balance of deep insight like the quote above, and his regular dose of humor too.
The things that resonate the most with me that I'll take out of this is the theme of working hard to attain your dreams. If you keep believing, nothing can stop you. After all, this is truly aligned with what we always say: Gowhere You Love!
For those keeping track at home, that's the first time an emoticon has made the Post Title here on GWHH. And unfortunately, the reason is warranted. Last week, the Yeezus Tour was postponed in Vancouver, Denver, and Minneapolis due to a damaged LED screen that was beyond repair because of an auto accident. This will unfortunately derail 'Ye's homecoming this week in Chicago on November 7th and November 9th as multiple sources are confirming word from the United Center that the tour is postponed until further notice.
I expected the tour to not make it this week in Chicago (after all, that screen is a no joke 60 feet wide), but I can only imagine that once 'Ye does return, he'll do it even bigger. TBD..!
Want this same Kanye West angel hoodie he wore in the Big Boy interview earlier this week?
Welp, we can actually go and get one ourselves now (and not pay an arm and a leg for it!). G.O.O.D. Music released an official merch store with this $160 hoodie of the G.O.O.D. Music Angel being the most expensive piece of gear. Peep more hoodies, shirts, pants, and even socks over at the store, especially if you were looking forward to copping some Yeezus Tour merch since it's postponed indefinitely. I love the "good" logo; I think I may be coppin' one with that myself.
