Justin Timberlake took to Instagram to reveal the release date to The 20/20 Experience (2 Of 2), the follow-up album to this year's comeback. As you can see: September 30th, as JT will continue to reign the music world in 2013. Seriously, "Suit & Tie" dropped at the top of the calendar year and you know between his summer tour with Jay-Z, fresh singles and another album around that date, that you'll be hearing Justin Timberlake's name until 2014. If the concept proves to be correct, we can expect 10 more songs on this album, executively produced by Timbaland.
Congratulations to Justin Timberlake because his album, The 20/20 Experience is official certified double platinum. The 20/20 Experience thus far has sold 1.60 million copies in the United States. With recent shipment of the album it has now exceeded 2 million mark, thus receiving the double platinum certification from the RIAA. Justin’s pervious albums, Justified and FutureSex/LoveSounds, have reached triple platinum and quadruple platinum.
So far this year Justin’s The 20/20 Experience remains the top-selling album this year to date. Don’t expect Justin’s album to go anywhere on the charts, because it still remains the album to beat in the top 3. The lead single from the album, “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay – Z is currently No. 8 on Billboards Hot 100, and it’s follow up “Mirrors” at the No. 7 spot.
So happy for Justin because this album is AMAZING! Also he recently stopped by TheEllen DeGeneres Show to perform “Mirrors” and “Pusher Love Girl.” Check his performances out below.
After looking over this weeks Top 5, four out of the five songs are really that kind of zone out to music so I hope you all get that same feeling that I did when I was putting this list together. Lets not waste anymore time and get into these tracks.
Easily the most anticipated song that so many people have been looking forward to in a long time. I compared it to the Mayan calendar, and though the song didn't live up to all the anticipation that it had recieved it still did better then the Mayans. I think it was a solid return for Justin, an I'm still pretty confident that the final album is going to be dope as hell.
There isn't much that can be said about this song that hasn't already been said. The obvious new attraction to this song is hearing Big Boi and Andre 3K on the same song again. Hopefully we won't have to wait another couple of years before we hear them together again because this just reminds us how great they are together.
This is a song that I fear people might have over looked because of the unfimiliar name, but your hearing it here first. Mr. Gage is dope. I've known about him because I'm homies with his camp SUH, but this is my first time hearing his music and I am very impressed. Stay in tuned with this guy.
Murph Watkins finds himself in my Top 5 yet again. Every time I hear new music from him I can't help but to think a better version of Curren$y and this song furthered that idea. Listen for yourself and tell me I'm wrong.
The final song on this weeks list is a definite change of pace compared to the other four songs on the list. When I listen to this it serves its purpose, which to me is club/riding music. If your looking for a dope track to kick off the night to "Millions" is for you.
So that's this weeks list, hope you liked it and if you didn't feel free to tell me about it.
A busy Sunday in entertainment and sports today, huh? It kicked off with the NFL Playoffs resuming with one of the best games of the year - Atlanta's two point victory over Seattle, then was followed by New England's advancement into the AFC Championship Game, the Golden Globes, which saw Homeland, Daniel Day Lewis, and Jodie Foster amongst many winners (Foster also delivering an odd, yet touching speech where she came out with the simple words, "I'm single."), and to cap it off - new music from Justin Timberlake.
With the new single featuring Jay-Z and longtime collaborator behind the boards, Timbaland, also comes the news of a new album to be released this year by JT entitled, The 20/20 Experience. You can listen to "Suit & Tie" below. JT fans, what do you think of the news and new single?!
The hotly anticipated new comeback single, off the newly revealed upcoming album, The 20/20 Experience.
What do you guys think?
My first impressions: Not really feelin' the intro, and overall... just mediocre. I can see this growing on me and I can see an upwards trend of the Suit & Tie combo once this single hits mainstream consciousness (and that's a good thing. Let's keep it classy, fellas.) But ehhh... just 3 stars from me. Rate it yourself below!
UPDATE: No new song today, but instead a one-minute teaser to new music entitled "I'm Ready" (which has no new music) and a countdown to 3 days from now (which is likely the real release of new music... but who knows?). And then Billboard is reporting that sources say JT is planning on releasing an album, entirely produced by Timbaland, sooner than later, with 20 tracks having been recorded already. Looks like everyone was teased pretty good today.
The track may come out tomorrow, but for now... Create-A-Caption!
01.09.12 11:58pm CT: Tomorrow morning, rumors are looking more and more clear that Justin Timberlake is making his return to music - accompanied by music's biggest power couple: Jay-Z & Beyonce. Produced by Timbaland.
And given JT's tweet, it looks like we'll find out for sure tomorrow morning. (But hey, he could be counting down to a late breakfast or somethin...?)
Yes Adele finally did the unmentionable! After shutting down every artist on Billboard 200 in 2011 and a large portion throughout 2012, the talented diva’s 21 has reached the 10 million mark in sales in the US. This feat has earned her a place in the best selling artist of the last 20 years. This week the album sold 28k copies, totaling up 21’s sales well over 10.02 millions since its release February 22, 2011.
Ironically 21 became the 21st album to sale 10 million since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking album sales in 1991. Adele’s 21 is the lasted album to sell over 10 million copies in a shorter time span. The last album to sell over 10 million copies in a short time span was ‘N Sync’s No Strings Attached, which sold over 10 million in its 43rd week. The last album to sell over 10 million copies was Usher’sConfessions. Only it took that album much longer to sell over 10 millions copies. Adele joins the club of divas like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, who are no strangers to selling multiple albums from their discography to reach Diamond Status.
Do you know how amazing this achievement is? It’s rare in the current climate that the record industry is in for an album to sell 10 million copies. Album sells have experienced a decline over the last seven years. Which is why Adele going diamond is a huge accomplishment. Tip to our struggling R&B acts (who I won’t name) the Adult Contemporary audience buys albums! Rather then trying to achieve a quick Hot 100 hit with a pop single, reach for the stars and drop something that’s a classic rather then the flavor of the month.
Yes you read right Justin Timberlake is officially off the market. The singer turned actor married his longtime girlfriend, Jessica Biel in Italy.
"It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends," the couple toldPeople in a statement Friday.
So I guess I should just stop hoping for another album now huh? On a non selfish note contradictions to the beautiful couple.
