Foodies, we got a fun spotlight for you today with a fresh installment of NBC's Marcus Riley's "Just One Drink" series with chef Stephanie Izard. If that name's familiar to you, it's because she is the only woman to win the popular Bravo reality cooking series Top Chef (in season 4). She calls Chicago her home and is the co-owner and executive chef at two of the city's most popular, raved-reviewed restaurants: Girl & The Goat and Little Goat.
In the video above, Marcus talks with Stephanie over "Just One Drink", which yields a light-hearted conversation about Izard's career from Top Chef to the 'Goat' restaurants on Randolph St. and also what lies ahead (including her latest collaboration with Macy's). If you haven't yet tried either of the restaurant, I can suggest Girl & The Goat from first-hand experience as we actually celebrated Maks G's birthday one year and sampled many of their amazing dishes. Who Dough also suggested Little Goat's smoked french fries yesterday, adding that they're "possibly the best french fries I've ever had". Make your reservations early because these restaurants are some of the toughest in town to grab a seat at!
And lastly, if you're seeing Marcus' "Just One Drink" series for the first time, be sure to watch more clips and get to know even more Chicagoans behind the scenes here and his Daily 5 series featuring this segment and some Jay-Z/Chief Keef here. Shoutout to the longtime homie Marcus Riley, who's won an Emmy with our own Cam Be on previous work for NBC, and linked up with Maks G for the filming of this video above.
