This video had been posted on the site yesterday, and I had been thinking about posting it for the past couple of days but I had been mentally wrestling with how I was going to do it. This video is important to me because it is the video of a friend of mine that is no longer with us. Jonell Barlow a.k.a. Jon.E.LL passed away on March 31, 2013 as a result of a drunk driver. He was an up and coming artist from here in Chicago that was yet so far from reaching his potential. Having seen Jon.E.LL perform his music on multiple occasions including the night he passed I can comfortably say I haven't seen many people have as much fun with their music as he did. I had the privilege of knowing Jon.E.LL for several years and seeing his growth as a artist and individual. For all the family and friends (myself included) that took part in this, this video served as a celebration, appreciation, and good bye to our fallen friend. A special thanks goes out to the video coordinators Hilton "MicFest" Martin and JVE Productions. But this is not the end of Jon.E.LL's music story. He recorded much more music that Hilton and The Jungle (the studio Jon.E.LL recorded at) are planning on putting together as a Mixtape and releasing this Fall. This song is over the Drake track "5am In Toronto" and features good friend TreStyle and Khori Lamar.
Though you are no longer with us we will make sure that your music lives forever. R.I.P. (Rap In Paradise) Jon.E.LL
