The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is a show I always like to keep an eye on (also when the talented John Oliver was hosting) and last night he dabbled into some hip hop news — namely the Jay Z x Barney's controversy.
Daily Show correspondent Larry Wilmore joins Stewart and opens with the line of the segment: "Jay Z doesn’t care about black people." Ha!
The segment goes on and I took it very light-heartedly, but SPIN puts a though-provoking, well, spin on how Stewart & Co. presented it — with no mention of the proceeds going to charity, and Jay's well-documented support for the black community. Take a look for yourself and see how it resonates with you.
Here is the full, hotly anticipated debate that aired online last night between Bill O'Reilly & Jon Stewart. I've been up on my Daily Show the past few weeks as Stewart has hyped up his debate with his TV rival while hilariously providing some thought-provoking commentary on the conventions. I have yet to watch the full hour and a half above, but certainly intend on doing so ASAP. For those who missed it, you can press play above.
