This was originally released earlier this week on the XXL Freshman '13 mixtape, and now liberated in CDQ/No Tags form by Pro Era and listed for the upcoming EP, Summer Knights.
I dig the jazzy production, not totally vibing with all of the content, but Bada$$ continues to impress with his flow and delivery. I liked him more than Bronson on this one. What do you all think?
After a hiatus last week, ya boy is back with some new tunes that dropped throughout this week. So no worries if you didn't get a chance to tune yourself in. I gotchu covered. Go ahead and peep game below this time around I bring you new releases from Pavy, Curren$y, Fonz-E Mak, and more.
Pavy sure brought the heat. This new release of his entitled "On My Lord" is one of the coldest releases I heard all week. Oh It's on for 2013. My mans about to come up tough and hard. So y'all be sure to lookout, cuz there's a bunch more cold shit on the way. That I know. Pavy's "Lord Jesus" video masterpiece to drop real soon.
I'm definitely more up on spitter than I am on Fab or Push. So for that I say Curren$y's version of "Life So Exciting" > the original. To each it's own you know. Don't really give a f*ck whatchu think either. Just grab the download. It's Jet Life mothaf*ckas!
I knew this one was making my end of the week list after I gave it that first listen. Fonz and UG of the 2008ighties crew brought tight rhymes over a smooth bumpin groove on this release entitled, "Alarm Clock." Bet I'm hella looking forward to more from these youngins this upcoming year. Just like I believe Pavy is going to have a great year, I believe the same for this young clique of Chi city MC's. So to my homie Fonz I say...bring it this year g. I'm looking out for you. I gotchu. Y'all go ahead and enjoy this now. Tune up!
When the legendary DJ Premier gives you a hot beat such as this "Unorthodox" jawn, there's now way you're delivering anything less than murk. So you already know what to expect with young Pro Era rapper, Joey Bada$$ on the track. Peep game above and grab that CDQ.
Y'all be sure to enjoy the heat and have a safe and happy weekend. Turn up!
Bada$$ really kicks it here. His technical skills are especially impressive and I'll be takin' him more seriously after this one. Plus, Premier's got the old-school bounce on the beat. This one's fast growing on me.
Some sad news to pass along on this Christmas Eve morning, as Pro Era emcee Capital Steez has passed away at the young age of 19. There has been no cause of death officially determined, but speculation is that he took his own life, with a chilling "The End." being his last tweet. Joey Bada$$ tweeted this, confirming Capital's death:
This unfortunate xmas eve.. Lost a best friend, a brother, a pro, a partner. Letting go is never easy.. May ur soul rest in peace Jamal.. RIP CAPITAL STEEZ!!! 7.7.93 – 12.24.12. SICK TO MY STOMACH… it just haven’t been the same since my homies death…. MOST PRAISE TO THE MOST HIIGHHHHHHHHHHHH. part of me still doesn’t believe this.

This comes off the heels of Pro Era's new project, Peep: The Aprocalypse, this weekend. R.I.P. to a rising Brooklyn artist, Capital Steez.
Being that I'm from New York my taste in music has always geared towards the old school hip hop that I was raised around. Thankfully that raunchy New York street rap hasn't fallen off just yet. PRO ERA has been a personal favorite of mine since they hit the scene. Nothing but straight head knockers every time I heard a track off of any mixtapes I've recently bumped like Joey Bada$$: 1999 mixtape or Capital STEEZ: AmeriKKKan Korruption. Now they've all come together & released PEEP: The aPROcalypse just last night. I don't know what it is but this type of hip hop always had a home in my music library. Do your self the favor & download this free tape before the holidays end. Bump it as loud as you can... just don't get your parents or neighbors looking at you crazy... if they already don't.
It's a Pro Era party on the latest record release from Capital Steez, which features Joey BadA$$, Dirty Sanchez, Rokamouth, and Dessy Hinds. The mellow keys and banging 808's which Joey B put together accentuate the ever gritty lyricism that the crew has come to be known for. Look for the official Pro Era mixtape to debut on December 21st. Capital's AmeriKKKan Korruption: Reloaded available for download today!
