As you all know June 18th is next week with huge hype surrounding the release of J. Cole’sBorn Sinner and Chicago’s very own Kanye West with Yeezus. Also dropping an album the same day is Kelly Rowland who will be holding down the R&B category. Today Kelly decided to treat her fans to a song off the album “Gone,” which features Wiz Khalifa. Sampling Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi” some of you may not know that song, but Janet Jackson’s“Got ‘Till It’s Gone,” which also uses the same sample featuring legend rapper Q-Tip. This is a really nice song for Kelly and I really like it! The only thing keeping me from loving it is the fact that I feel Wiz Khalifa should have been competently left off this song. He doesn’t add anything to the song other then the question why is he on it? Any who be sure to grab Kelly’s album next Tuesday when it drops!
In a discussion with Billboard this weekend for the 20th anniversary of the release of janet, err... Janet... revealed that she has begun work on a brand new album! Says the superstar herself:
"I am working on a new project now. We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music. I am excited about the direction we are taking. I don’t want to rush it… I don’t want to put a time constraint on the creative process."
