My name is Devine Carama. I'm an indi hip hop artist from Lexington, KY and I've recently worked with Thee Tom Hardy (9th Wonder's Jamla label), Vito Banga of Nappy Roots, 88 Key's signed Nemo Achida, lengendary battle MC Canibus, & underground hip hop group CunningLynguists.  I wanted to submit a visual today from my upcoming Nas tribute project.

Today I'm leaking the fourth (The Message, Soul Dreams, & Verbal Shootouts) and final song from my Nas tribute mixtape, It Was Rewritten, which is available for FREE download October 1st. The song I'm releasing today is entitled, "White Girl Lost", which is a flip of Nas' "Black Girl Lost". The song features Chicago crooner Marcus McClinton and is produced by 2 Mello. This song is deeper than the shock value title insist, so please walk with me.

Devine Carama's Thoughts:

This is a song that deals with racial perception. Racism isn't always based off of hate, but sometimes ignorance. This song tells two stories of a young white girl with misguided perceptions when it comes to their affection for the black male. I'm from Kentucky so I have personally dealt with this situation several times. We as African American men in the south are often viewed in misguided and false perceptions. I wanted to shed light on this particular aspect of racism. At the end of the day don't judge people off their religion, race, gender, etc. Just get to know people and love or hate them for who they are not what they are.
