With the official announcement of the iPhone 5 yesterday, Jimmy Kimmel decided to have some fun with it and hand people the iPhone 4S, saying it was the new iPhone 5. What ensues are some hilarious comments about how different this "new" iPhone is from the 4S. For fellow Bears fans looking for a distraction from a poor game against the Packers that just ended moments ago, this video should lighten the mood.
It's the moment many of you avid mobile phone users have been waiting for! Apple held their official press conference announcing the iPhone 5 and revealing its new features this afternoon. Amongst them: the phone is 18% thinner and is taller, boasting a 4-inch display screen (now fitting 5 rows of icons). It will run Apple's new A6 SoC, which the company is saying will double the CPU performance and graphics. There is an all-new 'Lightning' dock connector, essentially a smaller and more durable and efficient cable that comes with an adapter for the old accessories. Also, the headphone jack is now at the obttom of the phone to help make room for three microphones, which will support HD voice.
Colors: black and white. $199 for the 16GB. $299 for the 32GB. And $399 for the 64GB. Pre-orders begin September 14th and the iPhone will be available on September 21st.
UPDATE: Apple launched the new iPhone site, where you can see their official high-res images and more details on the new features. apple.com/iPhone
Overall, I feel like it's definitely an upgrade, but not a leap. I'm content with my 4S. What do you guys think? Will you be getting the iPhone 5?
