HS87 back to keep the momentum going with some new music in the form of "Nothin". This track is an instant jam due to its production. The subtleties like a quick flash of Busta Rhymes' "Touch It" and the added instrumental in the outro add to the otherwise powerful beat in general. This one should keep your chest puffed out with all parties involved doing their thing. Hit-Boy's last verse being my favorite. Borderline *Tibs Fav. and definitely one for your rotation.
Hit-Boy & King Chip add some lady-centric verses to the official remix of "ASAP". This smooth cut gets a little smoother with the chill flows from these two. *Tibs Fav. if in the mood for it.
This R&B song caught my eye since the production is credited to Hit-Boy. It doesn't really sound like your usual Hit-Boy production and the song itself will appeal to more pop fans. I could see this single on a B96 or Kiss FM for instance. Listen/download above.
Well since there are no signs of Beyoncé releasing anything new from her upcoming album we must take whatever we can get at this point. Beyoncé has recorded an original song set to appear on the soundtrack for her new animation movie, Epic. The song is titled “Raise Up” and was written by King Bey herself and Sia who wrote Rihanna’s“Diamonds.”Hit-Boy and Chase N. Cashe produced the song. Beyoncé’s label, Columbia Records will release the song later this month.
I’m not 100% on when Beyoncé plans to drop her 1st single, but my only guess is when she wraps up the UK leg of her Mrs. Carter World Tour June 1st. That leaves the entire month of June open till she kicks off the US leg of her tour June 28th during BET’s “The BET Experience” leading into the 2013 BET Awards airing live July 1st.
In the meantime, The-Dream has recently revealed a very exciting song set to appear on his new album, IV Play. The song is titled “Turnt” and it features Beyoncé and 2 Chainz. Due to clearance issue with a sample used, The-Dream has removed his original song with Beyoncé “Fi (Fire),” which has been described as a very sexual track off the album. Well that sucks! Hopefully Dream releases the song for free so I can enjoy it or the sample gets cleared.
Hit-Boy's homeboy Kent Money drops an impressive tape with a lot of heavy features, most of them on one track. The 12-track opus is home to the "Cypher" track that many of you may have heard about or seen Hit-Boy promoting via twitter, but it's also home to a bevy of other hard hitting tracks featuring production from Hit-Boy & HazeBanga. Guest verses from Common, Schoolboy Q, Method Man and Redman, Raekwon and more make the tape a solid effort from the HS87 (Hits Since '87) camp.
