This week Fantasia has released her new album The Side Effects Of You. Fantasia new album is expected to make its debut in Billboard 200 top 10 with sales of 90-95k units. So far, Fantasia has released two single from The Side Effects Of You – “Lose To Win” and my personal favorite “Without Me” featuring Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliot.
Congrats to Fantasia on debuting in Billboards top 10. Hopefully she keeps up her promotional campaign to get the momentum of her album going. Check out her stunning performance of “Lose To Win” on American Idol from late week below.
On Friday, September 7th, legend Mariah Carey was honored with the BMI Icon Award, in recognition of her songwriting talents. For those who don’t know Mariah Carey is not just a vocal gymnast, but she is also a songwriter. Carey has written 99% of her discography and a record breaking 17 out of 18 of her number 1 singles.
During the awards Carey was honored by several of her peers including Eric Benett, Fantasia, Nas, and Karen Clark Sheard leading up to her being present with the Icon Award. One of the highlights of that was Fantasia’s singing one of Carey’s most known sings ‘Hero’, which cased the icon to raise for her seat to praise her.
