I don't know about you guys, but my favorite part of Justin Bieber's new music video for "Beauty and a Beat" featuring Nicki Minaj was the DANCING! Here, DS2DIO gives a behind the scenes look including an interview with Jon M. Chu, head choreographer Nick DeMoura, and assistant choreographers Tucker Barkley and Kevin Maher. They talk about the obstacles of dancing in water, the "weight" on Justin's shoulders, and rehearsal time constraints (one and a half days?! what!). Look out for some backup dancers whom Gowhere has blogged about before including Ian Eastwood and Brian Puspos of Mos Wanted Crew, Ade Willis (Rabbit Run video), and (a personal favorite) Jillian Meyers. I'm definitely impressed with how this video turned out by the self direction of Justin Bieber, but not shocked at how awesome the dancing is. The whole video is below, and refer to 1:40 for a spotlight (oh, hey Brian, Ian, and Ade) then again at 1:50 for when Justin shows that he can keep up (Ade and Jillian are to his right). Okay, enough obsessing over, but even if you're not a Jbiebs fan, I say appreciate the dancing! :)
YouTube and DS2DIO are continuing to find new ways to support foundations and spread the love of dance. Subscribe to DS2DIO between October 1-7 and 50 cents per subscriber will be donated to the Dizzy Feet Foundation! "Dizzy Feet brings dance to underprivileged youth and provides scholarships to dancers all across the country." Created by Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Shankman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Katie Holmes, the Dizzy Feet Foundation has been growing and growing each year; utilizing YouTube as a way to reach dancers and supporters. On National Dance Day, the Dizzy Feet foundation used submissions of people dancing to the flashmob choreography to spread the word! Below is a video of Katie Holmes dancing in support of the Dizzy Feet Foundation along with an interview with Cat Deely on So You Think You Can Dance. Go to 1:45 for the dancing and singing.
