Today honestly couldn’t get any better then this because Beyoncé aka King Bey will indeed be releasing new music. Long time collaborator The-Dream recently spoke to Billboard to share:
"Definitely. She's got her stuff going. She took the summer to start recording, and now she's in a place where she's ready to start gearing up to reveal her plan. She's already gearing up to get ready to put stuff out. I'm sure there will probably be a couple records you hear before the Super Bowl gets here."
Looks like Beyoncé will be heading the Madonna route to launch her next album. Madonna released her single “Give Me All Your Luvin” two days before her Super Bowl performance and less then two months later she released her album MDNA, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 359,000 copies sold. Beyoncé is making sure this go round that both she and her brand will be absolutely impossible to ignore.
I'm back at it with my Top 5 Songs of The Week. This week is was pretty easy for me for some reason, I listened to all the songs and these 5 jumped out at me right away. So that being said lets get to the list.
I know I don't put these in any type of order but this song is my number one song of the week, and I might add it to next week's list just because it's that damn cold. Alicia and Maxwell are two of the most amazing singers of our generations and them together just furthered that belief for me.
The Boy Illinois is getting ready to release his next project 'The Memiors Of Gilbert Gaston' and he has two dope single leading up to that release in early December.
Big Boi did it again. So far from the songs that have dropped from Big Boi he has taken full advantage of the features he has. T.I. and Ludacris killed this, the beat is hard as hell, Big Boi did his things as usual, and he even added a thought provoking sample at the end. 'Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors' is going to NICE.
T.I. is a two time winner this week. It's hard to see any song with Andre 3000 on it not being in the top songs of the week, and I am not going to test that theory. T.I. spit a solid verse and 3k did something that he doesn't often do by letting us into his personal life when mentioning the apologizes to his mother, Big Boi, and "Baby Mother".
The Dream to me is real hit or miss. I really liked his first album but hated his second. This song reminds me of the music from his first album so I'm hoping this album will continue down this path and be a hit overall.
So that's this weeks list from me hope you all enjoy. Always feel free to comment with your thoughts and opinions. Til next week, two fingers to the side(that's peace to you don't get it).
Last year, The-Dream released a free project entitled 1977, but this year, Def Jam has green lit a re-release of the project, revealing so today in the album's artwork above. The album is set to hit stores December 18th, and will likely contain goodies (i.e. new tracks and bonus features), but no word on what exactly yet. Dream fans, consider this a pleasant Christmas gift as we move closer to the Holiday season.
It’s a lot of things you can never bring into question with Beyoncé, and one of them is who she chooses to collaborate with. Queen Creole and Light Bearer Beyoncé is currently working on her fifth studio album. She has already been in the studio with Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Missy Elliott, and now Miguel.
The raising singer-songwriter, who recently collaborated with Alicia Keys on Kaleidoscope Dream track, 'Where’s The Fun In Forever,' links up with the one and only King B. A few hours ago Miguel uploaded the photo above to his Instagram with the caption “…woah. creating for virgo’s all weekend,” but this was later deleted.
There are currently not any details on whose project this will be for, but the likely hood is it’s for Beyoncé. Whatever was the finishing product of this studio session on sure I will play it the hell out love it! Wouldn’t you just die if Beyoncé debuted this Miguel associated track during the Super Bowl? She’s already the headliner of the halftime show, so why not? All I know is this album will deliver life.
Music biz news comes in via the official press release announcing The-Dream's new position as the V.P. of A&R at Def Jam Records. He will be signing new talent to the label and producing tracks for the label's artists as well. Below: his quotable and an unrelated GIF of Ichiro's awesome swipe of home on a base-hit earlier tonight.
I am committed as I have been previously to bringing the power of belief in the artist back to the forefront. I share a unique view of an artist and as well as the business of music. I, with the help of many others, have ran a successful business for the last five years in the midst of the “Digital Change.” My concentration and effort will be to the artist to succeed in their dreams and goals. I’ve been a part of watching and participating in the success of many great women and men including Beyonce, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion to name a few. Music means more than just a download, it’s life to the culture and also the people who listen. This is a new exciting yet critical time for music – ‘You Meet Change with Change!’
