Kelly Rowland's 2nd single off the upcoming album, Talk A Good Game.
It just premiered moments ago on The Breakfast Club and here is the radio rip above (stay tuned today for the CDQ because I, like you, could do without the creep comments prior to the song, hah!)
-- UPDATE CDQ ABOVE (it's a 5:30 version, longer by a minute than the version this morning)
The song itself is surely one of Kelly's most personal and revealing as she talks about the mixed emotions of seeing Beyonce's solo career take off after Destiny's Child's breakup (while also touching on the music industry). And to make things tougher, she reveals while this was going on, she was going through an abusive relationship. Hear how she describes it all, also writtenproduced by The-Dream, above.
I dig Kelly's honesty first and foremost, and that makes for an engaging track that I think her fans will really enjoy.
Above is everything you need to get ready for IV Play (hah! Say that out loud.) as the newly revealed tracklist shows all 18 tracks that were hinted at the past week especially. PLUS, the 30 second snippets to hear the likes of "Pussy" f/ Big Sean & Pusha T and "Turnt" f/ Beyonce & 2 Chainz for the first time.
Well since there are no signs of Beyoncé releasing anything new from her upcoming album we must take whatever we can get at this point. Beyoncé has recorded an original song set to appear on the soundtrack for her new animation movie, Epic. The song is titled “Raise Up” and was written by King Bey herself and Sia who wrote Rihanna’s“Diamonds.”Hit-Boy and Chase N. Cashe produced the song. Beyoncé’s label, Columbia Records will release the song later this month.
I’m not 100% on when Beyoncé plans to drop her 1st single, but my only guess is when she wraps up the UK leg of her Mrs. Carter World Tour June 1st. That leaves the entire month of June open till she kicks off the US leg of her tour June 28th during BET’s “The BET Experience” leading into the 2013 BET Awards airing live July 1st.
In the meantime, The-Dream has recently revealed a very exciting song set to appear on his new album, IV Play. The song is titled “Turnt” and it features Beyoncé and 2 Chainz. Due to clearance issue with a sample used, The-Dream has removed his original song with Beyoncé “Fi (Fire),” which has been described as a very sexual track off the album. Well that sucks! Hopefully Dream releases the song for free so I can enjoy it or the sample gets cleared.
Yessssssssss Kelly! This cover > Okay back to the actual story. Today Kelly Rowland released the artwork for her fourth solo studio album, Talk A Good Game. The album is set to drop June 18th featuring collaborations from band matesBeyoncé and Michelle Williams, Wiz Khalifa, Pharrell, The-Dream, Mike Will Made It, and more. “Kisses Down Low” serves as the lead from the new album. Also Kelly along side with The-Dream will kick off their tour “Lights Out” on May 23rd in Minneapolis. You can get your tickets now here. I can’t wait till this drops!
The-Dream drops an interesting teaser to the tracklist off his upcoming album, Love IV, with the new release of 1977 hitting stores tomorrow, by the way. The photo above is a simple whiteboard featuring his handwriting of 12 track titles, some of them, rather explicit. For example, track 12 is "Thirsty Whore", cut off by the above photo, but seen clearly here. No doubt there's more details to come on this project as we head into the new year.
Today honestly couldn’t get any better then this because Beyoncé aka King Bey will indeed be releasing new music. Long time collaborator The-Dream recently spoke to Billboard to share:
"Definitely. She's got her stuff going. She took the summer to start recording, and now she's in a place where she's ready to start gearing up to reveal her plan. She's already gearing up to get ready to put stuff out. I'm sure there will probably be a couple records you hear before the Super Bowl gets here."
Looks like Beyoncé will be heading the Madonna route to launch her next album. Madonna released her single “Give Me All Your Luvin” two days before her Super Bowl performance and less then two months later she released her album MDNA, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 359,000 copies sold. Beyoncé is making sure this go round that both she and her brand will be absolutely impossible to ignore.
