Remind me not to invite Al Roker though to the next concert I attend. I'd prefer to go with someone who doesn't have a constant state of shock and confusion.
In a related Drake Tour tidbit, take a gander at a few HQ Instagrams from Drizzy himself of tonight's show. Could it be mere coincidence that he and 'Ye have the same "alien" light shining on the stage?
In this sit-down Drake talks all things #NWTS, including which songs didn't make the cut (hmmm). Plus, he talks about growing up in Toronto, his goals in music, and what sort of legacy he wants to leave behind. All the makings of a must-see for Drizzy fans.
UPDATE: Fences have been mended. Future and Drake talked out their differences last night and signed some paperwork to bring back Future on the tour, according to ATL's Hot 107. Phew, I don't know if I could have lived in a world where Drake & Future were beefing. No follow-up confirm on if Jhene Aiko will stay on tour as the "replacement"/new addition. I'm hopeful she will be, at least for select dates.
10.15.13: No new friends? Maybe Drizzy is sticking to the mantra after the news today that he's removing Future from his "Would you like a tour?" tour.
According to Page Six, the removal stemmed from Future's comments on NWTS in a since-deleted Billboard story:
‘Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do’
Future is now planning to sue Drake for $1.5 million in lost wages on the tour. But c'mon, Drake seriously didn't have Future removed from the tour because of those comments, right? [insert "Drake the type of dude that..."]
On the plus side, Jhene Aiko is set to replace Future as an opening act for the tour. Great looks for her to join Miguel as the openers.
Timbaland provided fans in Birmingham, UK a treat at last night's stop of the Magna Carter Tour — a preview of a new track with Jay Z & Drake together. Above is some footage that is, yes low quality, but good enough to get excited about given the dope melody and flow on Drake's verse (again, from what we can hear). I'm a fan so far and hope to see this properly premiered in the near future.
“Yeah and nothings been the same since they dropped ‘Control’ / And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes / Ha ha jokes on you, high-five Im bulletproof / Your shits a never penetrate, pin the tail on the donkey boy you been a fake”
- Kendrick Lamar
Daaang. Thoughts on Kendrick's verse and shots fired at the BET Cyphers?
UPDATE: My reaction is akin to DeMarcus Cousins in the video below:
I guess we can say the beef is officially squashed. You know, the one that is rumored to have been over both stars dating Rihanna and climaxing in a bottle throwing brawl that left Tony Parker's eye seriously injured?
Well, it looks like Chris Brown & Drake have a collab in the works as Breezy releases a 2 minute reel of in-studio footage with some brief scenes of them vibing out together. Other artists making an appearance with Chris in the studio: Game, Busta Rhymes, Big Sean, Tyga, T-Pain, Biebs, and Lupe Fiasco (we need that #Crack!).
Ladies, gents: are you excited about a Chris Brown x Drake collab?
The Canadian Hip-Hop superstar Drake warned us that nothing would be the same after the release of his latest LP Nothing Was the Same.. He might be right. The Hip-Hop mogul's new release sold an astounding 658,000 copies in its first full week of release. That's quite impressive especially considering that the album leaked over a week before it was officially released. This gives Drake not only the highest first week sales of his career, but the highest first week sales for any Hip-Hop album released in 2013 thus far. The only artist that might come close to topping Drake is Eminem with his release of the Marshall Mathers LP II this November. Either way, theres not much we can tell Mr. OVO himself. Nothing was the same yall.
