Here's a still from the set of the "No New Friends" video shoot today as, most notably, Twitter is on max. troll mode with Drake bringing back the Latrell Sprewell/Chris Webber circa 2001 endorsed DaDa jerseys. Seriously, the internet continues to win...
On yesterday's RapFix, Lil Wayne & Birdman confirmed and revealed a few new details about their upcoming projects. Most notably, the confirmation of what came out the day before: a new Big Tymers album with Drake. Birdman says Mannie Fresh will not be involved, however.
Also, Wayne says he still plans to drop the love song album, Devol, and Jae Millz, Lil Chuckee and T-Rone conclude the show with some new bars. Watch above and below!
Lil Wayne spoke with MTV today, hinting at a possible reunion of the Big Tymers for a new album with none other than Drake. "There should be a lot in between there," Wayne told MTV News of what will come between now and his final LP. "It's no time soon." MTV hints at more details to come in tomorrow's edition of RapFix when Tunechi, Birdman, and Rich Gang come through.
Exciting news for TLC fans! Chilli & T-Boz are planning new collabs with Drake, Ne-Yo, & J. Cole as they told Entertainment Weekly they're all planning on going to the studio. The music will likely coincide with the release of their summer biopic on VH1 — starring Drew Sidora, Keke Palmer, & Lil Mama as TLC — Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story. Plus, TLC will be performing on July 27th as part of the two-day Mixtape Festival in Hershey, PA. Lots of great tidbits and, I think it's safe to say that many of us will lend an ear to new TLC this summer!
"Everybody has shown us love. Not one person has said 'No,' and that’s amazing. So we’re just going to go in and demo and demo and figure it out. I talked to Dallas [Austin] today, we’re Skyping to see if I want to do this song that he has. I just left the studio last night. I go in again tomorrow."
The T. Dot rapper/singer is prepping his new video for "Started From The Bottom" as the rough pics above are from the set of the video shoot in his hometown today. Drizzy tweeted that the video is being directed by Director X (who did the "HYFR" vid), and no word on when we'll be hearing or seeing the final product. No doubt though that the hip hop world is on the edge of their seat. And from the title of the song, I'm hoping this will be a motivational track that we can all draw parallels to - Drake is really good at that, but we'll see if that's indeed the direction when the song is released.
-- Back with some first impressions... the beat is solid. Mike Will's on a roll lately gettin' everyone hyped. I could do without Future's autotune though, but Drake does a real solid job technically. I just don't resonate with the lyrical content on this particular verse. Not bad, though. I'll rock the generous 3 stars.
First and foremost let me say Happy New Year to you all and I hope you had a Merry Christmas. You all might have noticed that I didn't post a Top 5 List last week, sorry for that but this little thing called Christmas was going on so I was a little busy but I'm back now. So lets jump into this weeks list shall we.
When I first listen to this song I immediately wish I had dreads. This was an unexpected collab between these two artist and I think the end result was pretty dope. Perfect riding music or dread shaking music in the club. I'm not a huge fan of Gucci but this was put on my iPod fairly fast. And is it me or do you all hear a Chicago drill flow in Gucci verses?
Murph Watkins is an up and coming artist from Chicago that I've been listening to lately. If this is your first time hearing him then you really need to download his EP The Plague that he dropped a few weeks back. Another Chicago MC that we need to be on the lookout for.
If ever there was a recipe to make a song that the streets would like I think this song would be the end result. First you'll need Lil Wayne, then you add a Mike Will Made It beat, sprinkle in a little Drake and Future, then make the song about something that everybody would respect, like "Bitches Love Me." Eat up.
So that's this weeks list and let me say that my riding music playlist has had a good week. So like always feel free to let know your thoughts in the comments section or hit me up on Twitter.
