It's a big day for rising Chicago rap artist ShowYouSuck as he drops his first official EP on iTunes today via Closed Sessions.
It's been amazing to see his fanbase continue to grow on the strength of his humorous and down-to-earth personality that's personified in the fresh beats and rhymes. Here's perhaps Show's most complete project to date, which you can stream in its entirety below before you purchase.
Start with a *Tibs Fav. that's been growing on me: the J. Arthur (of theWHOevers)-produced "80s Boobs".
As a part of #tbt today Closed Sessions decided to release an old track from West coast MC Dom Kennedy. This was at first going to be a part of their CS: ATX that was released is 2011 but for whatever reason didn't make the final cut. They're labeling it has a Closed Sessions B-side. Enjoy.
With Chicago's Hip-Hop scene buzzing with great music and uplifting artists we've been too busy focusing on the future and not focusing much on our current set of emcees making an impact in Chicago's music scene. Well the future is here with three of Chicago's budding emcees joining forces on a track produced by upcoming Chicago producers, OnGaud. Mick Jenkins enlists Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa and what easily seems to be Chicago's next summer jam, "Cross Roads". All three artists were featured in our Hip-Hop Taste of Chicago, a three part series showcasing the best talent from various regions in the city of Chicago. "Cross Roads" will be featured on Jenkins' next mixtape Waters that is set to drop soon. Make sure to check out Jenkins' current mixtape Trees & Truths, one of the best mixtapes of the year.
Julian Malone, Closed Sessions, and producer Exile link up for this new release "Pair Of Dice". This also comes along with a short documentry letting people get to know Ju Malone on a more personal level. You get to see him talk about his creative process and about his growth as an artist.
