I know what you're thinking; this new release from Chuck L.I. is about drank, weed, or maybe even a Steven Spielberg film, but I promise you its not. Chuck tackles a topic that most people in the city of Chicago have been afflicted by, The Police. Take a listen and be on the lookout for upcoming releases from Chuck L.I. and The Culture.
Gotta say that this week brought forth a lot of bumpin' records. So strap yourself down and tune in as I rap my week up with this new edition of my #WeekInRaps. Features for the weekend from Young Jeezy, Chief Keef, Wale, Pill, and more. Please enjoy and have a safe and happy weekend y'all. Good luck.
This new Chief Keef has probably gotta be the one jam I've bumped to most this week. Yes I know O boy's lyrics ain't the greatest...but I gotta give it to young dude. Homie knows how to make records that hit. So whether you hate em or love em, you're still bound to hear this one for some time to come in the upcoming weeks. Especially since it features both 50 and Wiz on the track. This version however has no Wiz on it. And I'm not about to go find the version that does for y'all. Simply enjoy what we have to offer or go find that shit yourself.
MMG's Wale and Bad Boy's French Montana are "Back 2 Ballin'" on this new bump which Wale released yesterday, followed by a post from yours truly. Guess this one ended up making the final cut of my #WeekInRaps after all. Must say I found this one to be a straight jam to bump to on our nights out for this upcoming weekend. Enjoy y'all.
It's two weeks in a row for Tity. This week we catch 2 Chainz on a feature for one of Young Jeezy's latest records, "R.I.P.," which comes off snowman's recent collection, It's Tha World. Club swag written all over this one. Figured it was fitting. Also I don't hate it as much as I do many other club anthems.
Two of my favorite MC's out here collaborate for a new jam entitled, "Money Bags." Both Pill and Juicy J deliver hot verses on this one, making it a certified banger and sure in feature on this week's edition of my #WeekInRaps. What'chall think and Who's fuggin' with this one? I'm jammin' over here.
Can't really say I'm all that in tune with Trey's rappin' anymore. I used to think he was decent at one point, then well I guess....I woke up. His feature on this new Red Cafe however wasn't all that bad. I was a bit surprised actually that he came with it the way he did. For sure a strong feature to complement two dope verses from Red Cafe and Fabolous. Who agrees with me...who don't? Chime in!
The Hippie Sabotage production duo is back with another #WeekInRaps appearance. This time it's for their production contribution to Alex Wiley's latest release "Something To Say," which features a killer guest verse from Chicago's own Lil Nikk N9ne. That's two for two from the young up and coming beat makers. If you recall HS was featured on Calez's "B.S.O.A.T.," which made it as the top feature on my first ever edition of #WeekInRaps. Got to say I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more from the duo as well as these young rappers featured here. Look for Alex's #ClubWiley to drop within the oncoming weeks. Enjoy y'all!
This gotta be the illest shit I've heard from Dave Coresh in a while. A young Chicago rapper who's been a bit inconsistent over the past few years, but that's not to take away from homie's talent. The kid can rap. We know that. But I know I and I'm sure several others would love to see a story unfold. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. In the mean time grab this record, "LovE & MonEy," which features Gatz and Chuck L.I. on the track. A Jam coming off THC & Record.Breakers' collaborative compilation entitled, E.L.E.. Look for the project to feature tracks from Tyler The Creator, Kid Cudi, The Boy Illinois, and more!
Hope y'all messin' with my top choices in raps this week. Take these and enjoy yourself a great weekend out. But before you go though...be sure to grab the records below which stand as honorable mentions for this week's #WeekInRaps. Happy Friday homies.
