Words pays his respects to two of the most prolific emcees in hip hop as he prepares for the release of his debut album, "Point of view" set to release this fall. Words begins this track with an incredible sampled interview of Jay-Z reflecting on the cinderella story that was the late great, Big L, as well as how this fallen Hip-Hop hero has what it took to become a commercial darling. Words immediately starts to lyrically dismantle the iconic instrumental that helped put both Big L and Jay-Z on the map. This track is a gem from beginning to end. Make sure you dont sleep on one of Chicago's upcoming emcees.
The latest from Theo Means is another Kleb Collab featuring fellow Chicago kid BeeKay, and "On The Road" has the potential to put these two in the express lane to making a splash in the city.
Kleb Records has been harvesting plenty of good collabs of late, and "On The Road" is no different, as Theo and BeeKay rip apart Marvin and k-iLL's choppy, bouncy beat. Complete with a catchy hook, clever punchlines, and dynamic flows, these guys have a hit on their hands.
Fittingly, Theo and BeeKay are taking their talents on the road to perform with Huey Mack at Fubar in St. Louis August 10. Keep an eye out for the official video to this banger out soon, and to see if Theo Means and BeeKay can keep the wheels turning on their road to success.
Scheme returns with an epic Spanish remake which he calls 5AM En Chicago (5AM In Chicago). The track illustrates the merciless violence going on in the city of Chicago. He embellishes the violence by sampling a news report depicting the casualties that have occured in the city of Chicago. The witty thing about this track is that the majority of news in Chicago begins around 5am which Scheme uses in his narrative to report the violence and the menacing headlines that have affected his community as well as many families in Chicago. An analytical perspective in Spanish of what awaits us each morning is 5AM En Chicago. The track will be featured on Scheme's anticipated project, "Pocket Full Of Pesos", a project that will feature a blend of Spanish and English lyrics.
