My boys Tiglo and Cole, aka upcoming Seattle duo Brothers From Another, are back with another fresh summer EP entitled Tacos On Broadway.
Last summer I had the pleasure of discovering their newest album at the time, Taco Tuesday, as I was bopping around the Bandcamps of a few of my other favorite Pacific Northwest hip-hop artists. Let’s just say it was fun at first sight. In their very early twenties Tiglo and Cole are all about living that good life: tacos, girls, and taking advantage of every sunny day they come across, something that is very telling in the music that they put out.
About six months ago these boys had the opportunity to go on tour with Seattle’s dons of hip-hop, Blue Scholars; another duo that has been doing this for a lot longer but is always willing to share the stage with the up and coming. Having seen Blue Scholars the year before with other West Coast artists Sol and Bambu I was hyped that I got to see another young, fun act take the stage with these veterans. I even got the chance to sit down with the boys and shoot the shit, so I’m extremely happy to know that they’ve been grinding ever since.
Tacos On Broadway is easy going, as you may suspect from the single “Groov” featuring Asher Roth, which I posted on GWHH back in May. Other dope features on the EP include Sol, Thaddeus David, and Dave B. All about kicking back and having fun, this album almost tells the story of how a few dudes spend a sunny day: bumming on the beach, hollering at girls, getting amped up for a night out, and finally grooving until dawn. I also love the way these guys just want to live life without having to succumb to the corporate routine comprised of suits and a 9-5 job.
Long story short, I'll definitely be bumping Tacos On Broadway for the rest of the summer, especially when I'm biking on a sunny day. So cop the free download, give it a listen, and stay dope. YEE!
