Here's another official new single today as Sony/RCA singer Tinashe links up with Travi$ Scott and Boi-1da for somewhat of a dark, low-energy record. I like Tinashe a lot on the hook as Travi$ Scott fit well with his guest verse. And he even has a Yeezus allusion or two... ("I'm in it" for ex.) or maybe this was recorded before and it's the other way around? Regardless, a solid add to your library.
All signs point to yes as #OVOHS87 looks like it's going down these past few days in Toronto. This collab of Drake with two of hip hop's hottest producers has "banger of the year" potential. I'm definitely curious to hear the end product they are "cooking up".
I'm overall rockin' with the new single from Chicago's own, who lets the listeners know about the hometown as well. It stems from the song's title and overall message "God Is Great". I automatically resonate with that, as I'm sure many many others will. Where I don't vibe with it like some may is I feel the song's balance is a little too skewed towards the materialistic and Rockie's slow-paced delivery. I know a lot of people rock with the latter, for him specifically and in general, but I'm just more of a fan of fast flows, that's all.
Props to Boi-1da on the instant heater of a production and Rockie for this, my favorite line:
