Nothing earth-shattering here, unless you missed the recent revelation that Big Sean was in a Detroit recording studio with none other than his fellow hometown residents, Eminem & Royce Da 5'9". In a sit-down on Nitecap with Peter Bailey, Big Sean talks about the studio session with this quote being a look into what happened:
"It was crazy just coming from Detroit. We sat and talked for a couple of hours, even before we did anything musically. You know what I’m saying? So, I was just telling them how much—how crazy it is man coming from The D." - Big Sean
Unfortunately, the details remain that scarce; no word yet on if a track was laid down and comin' for Sean's upcoming album, Hall Of Fame.
Big Sean also went onto comment on Rick Ross' controversial lyric situation saying, "I don’t think he meant it how it came across…You gotta have a sense of what’s right and what’s wrong," as well as new girlfriend, Glee's Naya Rivera, and even a comment on the recent news of Jason Collins coming out. With a mixture from Chi-Town, add a little D-Town, and a little Houston slang, you will get a monster track from Jeremih with the help of Big Sean and Paul Wall. This new track titled "Old Skool Pontiac" is a for sure banger!
Is a Detroit rap fan's dream about to become a reality? Big Sean has long stated he would love to collab or even vibe out with Eminem in a studio session and the instagram he just posted mere minutes ago indicates he may have done just that. It definitely looks like a studio, but hard to say for sure. I'm just hopeful in interpreting the cryptic caption of "today was historical" as "raps from Eminem were recorded for a future song with Big Sean". Hopefully more details, and a collab, to come...
UPDATE: Royce Da 5'9" was there. Excited is an understatement for this potential Detroit collab...
