Across 100 cities today in America, there were #JusticeForTrayvon rallies and amongst the many artists and celebrities that were out amongst the people today to support were none other than Jay Z & Beyonce, pictured above with Trayvon Martin's family in New York City.
Beyonce took it one step further by releasing a petition on her website (where she also has more photos.) It reads:
WE ARE STILL STRUGGLING WITH THE ISSUE OF INEQUALITY AND THE LACK OF VALUE FOR A BLACK MAN’S LIFE. TRAYVON MARTIN’S MOST BASIC CIVIL RIGHT, THE RIGHT TO LIVE, WAS VIOLATED.
WE HAVE MADE SO MUCH PROGRESS AND CANNOT ALLOW HATRED AND RACISM TO DIVIDE US. WHEN WE ALL JOIN TOGETHER, PEOPLE OF ALL RACES, WE HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD WE LIVE IN.
WE MUST FIGHT FOR TRAYVON THE SAME WAY THE GENERATION BEFORE US FOUGHT FOR EMMETT TILL.I JOINED OVER 570,000 PEOPLE IN SIGNING THE PETITION BELOW AND HOPEFULLY YOU WILL, TOO.
That's awesome. And not to discount anyone's efforts and support today either, because it's truly amazing how everyone's uniting together, whether you're a Grammy winning artist or everyday person. We can all make a difference as one! #JusticeForTrayvon

In what I long expected for some months now since the kick off of her Mrs. Carter World Tour. Beyoncé has scrapped her album. While chatting it up with The Sun, producer Diplo confirmed the obvious… Beyoncé scrapped her album. Diplo was asked about her project and stated “I just did two songs for her new album, well, I tried,” and then saying, “I think she scrapped the record.”
“The album was suppose to be done and they been hitting me up for band new ideas.” Diplo also said, “I like to work from scratch, but sometimes I get called in to fix records.” Also contributing to the claims Beyoncé scrapping her album is one of its songwriters on the project, Ne-Yo. After speaking with Billboard Ne-Yo stared that “They’re still trying to figure out what they want that to be, which I’m not mad at. Beyoncé’s the kind of artist where you’re not gonna see till its right. And her fans – they love her so they’ll be patient.”
So with all that being said although Beyoncé pulled the plug on the original album, which should have been released MONTHS ago… It’s fine. It’s been a few months and if you can remember Beyoncé was recently in the studio with Travis Scott and he commented on listening to her new album, which he is also been rumored to contribute to. Beyoncé has ushered in a few new producer to work her album. So with how many months it been she could very well be near finished with the new album.
I’m actually glad Beyoncé went back in to rework her album, because topping her previously album, 4 is a must! I love “Grown Woman,”“Bow Down/I Been On,” and “Standing On The Sun,” but I didn’t feel any of those were strong enough 1st singles for her to launch a whole new era with. A single with the magnitude of “Single Ladies” is what Beyoncé needs and I think she knows that, which explains her going back to make sure her album is perfect. So props to her for not wanting to release just anything. Quality work takes time and I’m willing (I don’t have a choice) to wait. I can see her dropping 3rd or 4th quarter of this year. BTW don't be surpirse if none of the songs I mentioned above doesn't make the new album.
Good morning, Beyonce! Here she is covered in glitter (and nothing else) for the cover of Flaunt Magazine. The slideshow has some more photos above (that orange hair is fly too) and some cool interview snippets can be read below (with the full cover story here).
A picnic planner is hoping to get lucky with his/her picnic companion. What’s in the picnic basket?
A cozy blanket, red wine, fruit, ’90s R&B playing on my iPod. I don’t think you need much else.
Gay men are drawn to you and empowered by you, as they have been to “gay icons” Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Cher, and Madonna. What is it about you, and those women, that gay men love?
I’m flattered if I’m in the company of those great women. I think they love that we are bold, unafraid to love, and flaunt our sexuality and strength.
Some were critical at your participating in a Pepsi campaign after you moved your body for childhood obesity. Where is the balance between your career objectives and your philanthropy?
Pepsi is a brand I’ve grown up seeing my heroes collaborate with. The company respects musicians and artistry. I wouldn’t encourage any person, especially a child, to live life without balance. When you work out, take care of your body, rehearse as hard as I rehearsed in the commercial, I think it’s great to have a Pepsi or Diet Pepsi when you want one. It’s all about choices.
You have always carefully sculpted your image and controlled public access to your off-stage life. Is there anything to envy about stars who don’t care about safeguarding their private lives?
I have chosen to keep certain aspects of my life private. But I also love sharing what makes me happy, especially through photography.
Wow, look at those names again. And isn't your first thought, "Could this be the greatest song ever?"
OK, even if it's not, that's quite an impressive list of A-listers on one song. But then take a look at the lyrics. I'm not resonating with so much materialistic bragging. Holding off any further thought though until the song comes out, now less than a week away on July 4th.
Today Jay-Z releases the latest set of lyrics from his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. “Part II (On The Run),” which features none other then Mrs. Carter herself, Beyoncé. Based off reading the lyrics and clearly the title I think its safe to say this is the sequel to “’03 Bonnie & Clyde.” I honestly have no words to describe how excited I am for Jay’s new album! Now if only we could get audio of the tracks now… Mm mmm… maybe something will happen Sunday? Who knows but this song seems like it’s going to be a favorite!
Beyonce is "Standing On The Sun" (which sounds awfully dangerous) on what may be her new single for her upcoming album. Get a listen to what may or may not be the song's final version above (look out for more details/an update soon).

So Beyoncé’s album seems to be done and I just want to point out that the BET Awards are this week. Why is that important? Well because Beyoncé and Jay-Z are confirmed to be attending the BET Awards. BET’s theme this year is ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. Mind Beyoncé’s tour goes on Sale Monday the day after the BET Awards. Could she maybe be performing something new as a surprise to promote the 2nd leg of the tour? Who knows, but she used her Super Bowl performance to promote the 1st leg of the Mrs. Carter Show. Again this is just my thoughts but I hope something happens…
Beyonce contributes to the Epic Soundtrack (in theatres June 24th) with this nice track called "Rise Up". I especially like the hook to this one and at the very least, the casual fan can likely just sit back and appreciate this one.
